Let’s have this talk today. Please grab a chair. Let’s break down some of the financial burden tied around your waist. On the list you will see:
Family problems:
Most families seem not to care about how they can help themselves because they have that one person who gives them whatever they ask for. That one person is you and because it’s family, you are told that you must bear the burden even at the risk of your own life. Your grown siblings are on you. Your parents are on you. Your extended family members are on you. Everyone has their long insatiable pipe laid deep in your cup, sucking them dry. No mercy.
Manipulative friends:
These ones feel they are smarter than you. Whenever you guys go out, they order the most expensive things and look away when it’s time to pay the bills. Every day they are in your house, eating your food, and drinking your wine, and they don’t come alone. When they borrow money from you they don’t return it and when next they ask, you are too kind to say no. You just let them manipulate you as they like because you feel it’s nothing. They hide their own money while you spend yours. They make you feel like the boss just so you can keep footing the bills. Sycophants! It’s one of the reasons I don’t like being referred to as The Boss.
Girlfriends:
She’s beautiful and you don’t want to lose her. She sees how desperate you are to keep her and she turns you to her purse. She doesn’t care about your business or your struggles, but whenever she asks for money, she expects you to double the amount and you do. The only thing you gain is the pride you feel when people call such a beauty your woman. She has her rope firmly wrapped around your neck and your pocket.
Clubbing:
You can’t wait to hear your name in the mouth of the hype men every weekend. You like the way he announces your presence when you order those expensive drinks. You like how those h00dlums and hook-up babes on your table inflame your ego when you fling bundles of cash up in the air. You are balling, so you think.
Religion:
Holy You! Such a godly person. You belong to seven groups in your worship center and every month you must pay your dues. This is aside from the ten percent you pay every week to keep you safe from weapons you fashioned against yourself. Let’s not talk about the seeds of faith and other weekly donations. Forgive me if this one is offensive to you. I forgot you are doing it for God and for the man who drives Rolls Royce so that he could be able to do the work of God and show you the way to heaven.
House rent:
Yesterday you were making 300k monthly and you struggled to pay for 2 bedroom flat rent. Now you are earning 1M monthly and you have moved to a 4 bedroom duplex. Odogwu. The small opportunity you got to strengthen your financial roots, you instead opened up the floodgates of leakages. You think you can now afford to live bigger. You are in bigger trouble.
