A New Dimension for Chereponi Football
Rising Stars Chereponi: Established in 2018, the team has steadily built its reputation through resilience and youth empowerment. They recently competed in the Chereponi District Football Association’s 3rd Division League and are now stepping into Division Two, proving their consistency and hunger for success.

Real Chereponi United FC: The team opened its Division Two campaign in November 2025 with a hard‑fought 3–2 victory against Beyom Soccer Ambassadors, showcasing tactical discipline and strong community support.

Football has deep roots in Chereponi, a district in Ghana’s North East Region known for its youthful population, over 50% are under 15 years old. This demographic has fueled grassroots sports, with football becoming a central avenue for youth engagement, discipline and peacebuilding space.

Local leagues organized have long provided platforms for emerging talent. Matches often draw large community crowds, reinforcing football’s role as a cultural and social glue.

Official kits for both teams are now available, designed by Mayniak Sportwear. Purchasing jerseys not only shows pride but also provides financial support to sustain the clubs.

Football in Chereponi is more than sport it is about community pride, youth empowerment and peacebuilding. With two teams now competing at Division Two level, the district is poised to gain recognition across the Northern Region and beyond.

The rise of Rising Stars and Real Chereponi United is proof that humble beginnings, consistency and community support can transform dreams into reality.

NDC Sets the Record Straight on Developmental Projects in Wenchiki.

A heated debate over developmental achievements in Wenchiki has emerged on social media after Mr. Alhassan Razak, a communicator for the New Patriotic Party (NPP), questioned the record of the National Democratic Congress (NDC) in the Chereponi Constituency.

In a strongly worded Facebook post, Yakubu Seidu Abass, the NDC Constituency Communication Officer, set out to “correct the record” by listing major projects executed under NDC administrations in Wenchiki. These include the Wenchiki Dam, Wenchiki Market, primary school infrastructure, a police station, an area council office, a health centre, bridges at Adibo and Najekon, electricity extension, six boreholes and ongoing construction of teachers’ quarters.

“These are tangible and visible projects that continue to improve the lives of the people of Wenchiki,” Abass wrote, stressing that development should be measured by results, not rhetoric. He further challenged Mr. Razak and the NPP leadership to publicly provide a list of projects in Wenchiki that could match or surpass the NDC’s record.

The statement emphasized that public discourse must be rooted in facts and accountability rather than propaganda. Abass concluded with hashtags such as , and , underscoring the NDC’s confidence in its developmental track record.

Razaku Questions NDC's Legacy, Seeks Evidence of Projects by Former MPs and DCEs

A political activist and social media commentator, Allhassan Razaku, has sparked debate in the Chereponi political space after questioning the development records of previous National Democratic Congress (NDC) Members of Parliament and District Chief Executives (DCEs).

In a Facebook post addressed to what he described as "fellow patriots," Razaku argued that the current NDC administration should not be presented as the first to govern the constituency, emphasizing that the party has previously held both the parliamentary seat and the District Chief Executive position.

According to him, the NDC has, over the years, produced three Members of Parliament and two District Chief Executives for Chereponi.

Razaku challenged NDC communicators to publicly identify and list projects commissioned during the tenure of the following former officeholders:
Hon. Yahaya
Hon. Alhaji Issah Seidu (Former MP/DCE)
Hon. Samuel Abdullah
The late Hon. Hajia Mary Nakobu (Former DCE)

He suggested that discussions about development in the constituency should consider the contributions of past administrations rather than focusing solely on the current leadership.
