I've been seeing a lot of comparative analogies about these great men in response to their respective behaviors when faced with the same challenge.
In 2016 Portugal were playing a UEFA EURO 2024 Finals and Cristiano Ronaldo was injured, he got off the pitch and couldn't sit down but was motivating and pushing his team mates to go on without him.
A lot of person's tagged it as disrespectful to the coach forgetting the amount of influence he has in that team, in his country Seleções de Portugal and in the world at large.
Fast forward to 2024 Copa América Finals, Leo Messi had an ankle injury and was subbed off and yes he was gutted but he sat down and allowed his teammates AFA - Selección Argentina play having trust and faith in them.
Now what I'm seeing is praises to his behavior and slander to Ronaldo's but we fail to learn the essential leadership lessons from both of them.
But I'll teach you all for free after all isn't that what Effiong David-king does ☺️😋
As a leader there is a time to act like Ronaldo, push your team, motivate them, caution their mistakes and you should also know when it's time to act like Messi, sit back, observe, allow them make decisions, try their creativity and trust their choices.
If you can't be both then you're not a leader.
Leadership is a mix of hot and cold.
These guys are leaders for their countries and most importantly different human beings.
We should stop expecting them to act and behave the same.
Let's enjoy the fact that we were born in the era they played, 30.
I'm still not a Messi fan and I divorced Ronaldo the day he insulted my ex that we don't have good facilities at old Trafford.
But I'll speak the truth still
