HOW TORGO BECOMES TOGOLAND

Take a historical journey through Togo’s transformation into Togoland, beginning with the arrival of German missionaries in 1847. This video traces the influence of these missionaries in EweLand, the establishment of relationships with local chiefs, and the signing of the landmark Peace and Trade agreement between Dr. Gustav Nachtigal and Togbe Mlapa III on July 5, 1884.
