Great Oti Association-North America has donated Medical Supplies to selected hospitals in the Oti Region.
The Great Oti AssociationâNorth America (GOANA) has once again demonstrated its unwavering commitment to improving healthcare delivery in the Oti Region through a series of generous donations of medical supplies to selected health facilities.
The initiative, which began in August 2024, was spearheaded by the Associationâs President, Mr. Dell Saviour Adiakpor, together with the Country Representative, Rear Admiral Moses Beick-Baffour (retired), and has continued into 2025 with expanded support to more hospitals.
2024 Donations â Jasikan & Worawora
In 2024, GOANA made its first delivery of medical supplies to Jasikan Municipal Hospital and Worawora Regional Hospital (Oti Regional Hospital). Each hospital received 70 bedsheets, 70 bed covers, and 70 pillowcases, part of a larger consignment shipped from North America.
2025 Follow-Up Donations â Expanding the Impact
Unlike the 2024 exercise, which focused mainly on bedding supplies, the 2025 initiative was more diverse and targeted additional facilities. This yearâs donations were carried out by the Associationâs Country Representative, Rear Admiral Beick-Baffour (retired) on behalf of GOANA.
Jasikan Municipal Hospital
GOANA revisited Jasikan Hospital, this time presenting a wheelchair, zimmer frame, isolation gowns, nose masks, and other supplies, further strengthening the hospitalâs capacity to serve patients.
⢠Likpe Bakua Polyclinic
The Association donated 70 bedspreads, bedsheets, and pillow covers, greatly easing the facilityâs burden in providing adequate patient care.
⢠Kadjebi Health Center
At Kadjebi, the donation package included 50 bedspreads, bedsheets, and pillows, much to the delight of health workers who expressed heartfelt appreciation.
. Krachi Government Hospital
The final stop of the 2025 outreach was Kete Krachi, where the hospital received 70 bedspreads, bedsheets, and pillow covers.
Collaboration & Vision
This yearâs initiative also received support from partners including the Peniel Ebenezer Foundation and Christ Oasis Ministries, making it possible to add protective items such as isolation gowns and nose masks to the donation package.
Speaking during the presentations, Rear Admiral Beick-Baffour (retired) urged hospital authorities and community leaders to share the Associationâs impact with their relatives abroad, encouraging more Oti indigenes in the diaspora to join GOANA.
President of the Association, Mr. Dell Saviour, emphasized that GOANAâs mission goes beyond healthcare, focusing on uniting Oti natives abroad and channeling their collective efforts into meaningful projects back home. He further revealed plans to provide hospital beds in the next phase of donations.
Looking Ahead
Hospital authorities across all beneficiary facilities expressed sincere appreciation to GOANA for consistently remembering the healthcare needs of the Oti Region. They pledged to put the items to good use in serving patients and improving healthcare delivery.
Meanwhile, the Association is preparing to officially launch its chapter in Worcester, Massachusetts, later this month under the theme âOur Unity, Our Development.â
The efforts of GOANA underscore the vital role of diaspora associations in complementing government initiatives and bridging resource gaps in critical sectors like healthcare.
