🌾🇬🇭 AGRICULTURE NEEDS OUR ATTENTION
Ghana’s agricultural sector plays a major role in food production, employment and the livelihoods of many families, especially in rural communities.
There is a growing call for stronger support for farmers and young people who want to enter agriculture. Greater investment in farming, access to affordable inputs, irrigation, modern equipment, markets and practical training could help create opportunities and strengthen food security.
The message is simple: when we support agriculture, we support jobs, families and the future of Ghana. 🇬🇭🌱

🇬🇭 GALAMSEY DEBATE: MONEY, JOBS & THE ENVIRONMENT
A young Ghanaian miner has sparked discussion after defending his involvement in illegal mining, saying the work provides him with significant weekly income.
The statement raises a bigger question for Ghana: How do we create decent-paying jobs and economic opportunities for young people while protecting our forests, farmlands and water bodies?
Galamsey remains a major public issue, with debates continuing around livelihoods, employment, environmental protection and enforcement.
💬 What do you think?
Should Ghana focus more on creating alternative jobs for young people in mining communities?

Important: The GH₵3,000-per-week figure is presented in the graphic as the miner's claim; I wouldn't present that amount as independently verified. Current Ghana labour-market information shows a wide range of wages and vacancies, so the claim should be attributed rather than stated as an established fact.

Policy Advisor at Norsaac, Toyibu Issahaku has called on the government to review the categorisation of Senior High Schools (SHSs), arguing that the current system gives some schools an undue advantage in infrastructure and resource allocation.

He says the preferential treatment given to Category A schools is putting unnecessary pressure on them, as more parents and students seek placement in those schools, while Category B and C schools continue to receive comparatively fewer resources.
