The Ghana Police has arrested 39-year-old Michael Mensah, who is believed to be a teacher and a driver in connection with the murder of University of Cape Coast (UCC) level 200 student, Innocentia Atsufui Avinu.

According to the police, the suspect was arrested yesterday, 15th June 2026 at Pedu Lorry Station in Cape Coast after a led operation.

investigations indicate that on Thursday, 11th June 2026, the suspect picked up Innocentia from Ayensu Plaza within the UCC hostel area and took her to Hutchland Beach, where she was last seen.

Police say investigations are still ongoing, and more updates will be provided soon.
