Wow! Physically sapped but mentally invigorated!

Day 2 of the AWEC Virtual Leadership Summit has been empowering and captivating. From the art and science of marketing to story telling for entrepreneurs, I (and my sisters i believe) have been equipped to tell our brand stories that capture the heart and the head.

Having experienced a personal frustration of looking for home grown products for years, a business called Add brand was birthed, which is an E-commerce platform for natural and high quality made in Ghana products. The journey has been thrilling and interesting, bordering on the fact that we do not know in person 90% of our customers. Just yesterday, a beautiful woman called Diana called out to me at a programme. After i asked how she knew me, she introduced herself as one of my customers, you can only imagine the excitement on my face and of course, we took a selfie.

We as a business shall focus on getting better and making decisions with You, our customer in mind. Our brand archetype seems to be The Lover Archetype, with traits of The Caregiver Archetype, I just learnt about this so i believe that I would figure that out soon with the help of my cohort sisters

And oh!, in case you are wondering what brand archetype is, Brand archetypes are human character traits that most accurately reflect a brand. There are twelve brand archetypes.

Assimilating the contents of Days 1 and 2, I am gearing up for Day 3 tomorrow; I just can't wait.

Guess what!?

I learned about the importance of data to a business using ADD Products And Services and how it can be used for a company's benefit following it with the theory related to the processing and flow of on-premise company data. I also learned about the data capabilities related to both Power BI Service and Power BI Desktop, and how I can connect to different sources like web pages and databases.
I went on to cover the different storage modes in Power BI, and how this can affect connections with the data. I also looked into other databases that can be used for connecting to Power BI and exploring a connection using the ODBC software.

I ended it by learning how to create parameters and how they can be utilized in a Power BI report; covering the topic of incremental refreshes, and why this feature can be so important for report building and publishing tasks.
Finally, I looked at the use of M Language in Power Query Editor, and how it can be used along with Advanced Editor to make amendments and fix errors in data connections.

There is no end to learning, keep exploring!

On Saturday, someone drove me through a route to my house within 15 mins,a trip that would averagely last 30mins.
This morning, I used same route and in 15mins,I was at my destination,I couldn't help but be thankful for that. Too many graces available, your girl is grateful Lord!

Hello there! :)

Effective communication in relationships is crucial for understanding, empathy, and resolving conflicts;the goal is not to be the 'winner',remember that.

Today we would like to look at a few tools and tips that would enable us communicate better in our relationships and obtain our desired outcome:

- Active Listening: Pay full attention to your partner, and let them speak without interruption. Show empathy and understanding. This is not the time to be fidgeting with your phone or be distracted,your partner deserves your full attention!

- Nonverbal Communication: Use body language and facial expressions to convey emotions and interest. Does your body language express importance of what is being discussed? Adjust if necessary.

- Avoid Blame: Focus on the issue, not the person. Avoid blaming or accusing. The goal is to gain understanding and strengthen the relationship not to find a loser and winner,don't forget that.

- Open-ended Questions: Encourage dialogue by asking questions that require more than a yes/no answer. Ensure that an atmosphere that makes you and your partner express yourselves freely is created.

- Empathy: Try to understand your partner's perspective and validate their feelings. This is crucial!

- Stay Calm: Avoid yelling or escalating conflicts. Take a break if needed. Did yelling ever help in communication? I doubt!

- Timing: Choose the right time to discuss important matters, when both are calm and open.

- Avoid Assumptions: Clarify misunderstandings and avoid making assumptions about your partner's intentions. Assumptions kill relationships quicker than we think, simply ask when unsure.

- Use "We" Language: Collaborative language can foster a sense of unity. This can make the people involved also have a great sense of belonging and are likely to fully participate in the communication process.

Finally apologise and Forgive, no one is too big to say sorry and remember that the best apology is a changed behaviour!
