The wisdom of the prophet Prophet David Rauf
If you are a prophet growing up, do not make it your business to become a political prophet. Avoid political prophecies at all cost especially those who are just coming up in the prophetic. The price is heavier than the fame it gives.
If you gain your voice through political prophecies, you will lose it again through same.
There are some who have build track records in the prophetic already, don't compare yourself to them......
If the Holy Spirit ever gives you a revelation concerning politics, say what He has said once, and return to your primary assignment, winning souls and raising men for Christ. Never build your ministry around political predictions; build it around Christ and His Kingdom.
I speak as one who has walked through that path. I am not attacking anyone, but I am deeply concerned about the office itself. The prophetic office is sacred, and when it loses credibility, the voice of God becomes a subject of mockery.
The Lord can speak today and change His mind tomorrow. That is God.
He chose Saul and later rejected him (1 Samuel 15:10–11).
He declared Hezekiah dead, and within minutes, He reversed His word (2 Kings 20:1–6).
He sent Jonah to declare judgment over Nineveh, and when they repented, He turned His anger into mercy (Jonah 3:4–10).
This is why you must not trust too much in what you saw or heard about a man or a nation. You can prophesy accurately today, and yet by tomorrow, Heaven may have substituted what you saw without informing you. Man can change overnight, and God can change His mind without consulting you. That was the case of Saul and Samuel, while Samuel was still praying and crying, God had already moved on to David.
God can be happy with a man by mercy today and reject him by justice tomorrow. The prophetic office is a delicate one. It requires humility, sensitivity, and brokenness. You need a dimension of prophetic strength and intimacy where God no longer bypasses you in earthly matters before you can stand boldly in that realm.
Remember what God said concerning Abraham:
“Shall I hide from Abraham what I am about to do?” Genesis 18:17.
That was not prophetic gift it was prophetic trust.
Abraham had walked so closely with God that Heaven could not hide its plans from him. He was called a friend of God.
There is a difference between a gift, an office, and trust.
You can operate in the gift and still not be trusted with certain divine matters.
Lord, help us to move from gift to trust.
When one says, “Thus saith the Lord,” and another says the opposite, what then becomes of the sacred office of the prophet? It is happening in Ghana now. Some say A, others say B, and the unbelievers laugh. One day, a man met me at the airport and mocked, saying, “Prophet, who are you supporting?” I was pained to the core. The prophetic mantle has now been dragged into partisan camps. The sacred is becoming secular. The holy has become a hashtag.
Let me tell you the truth, I have never missed a political prophecy since I began prophesying, yet I have learned silence can also be obedience.
If God allows me to speak, I say it once and leave it there.
Once has He spoken; twice have I heard (Psalm 62:11).
When the Lord showed me the winner of the NPP primaries coming on 31st January 2026, I saw it clearly. Yet, when I heard another renowned prophet declare the same word publicly, I held my peace. Why should I repeat what another vessel has already released? The office matters more than my name. The unity of the prophetic body is more valuable than my fame.
Even the Scriptures say,
“And let the prophets speak two or three, and let the others judge” — 1 Corinthians 14:29.
That means even if you see the same thing, allow one to speak, and let the rest remain silent unless God insists otherwise. You can always meet your brother privately, deliberate, and confirm. Prophets are meant to complete each other, not compete with each other.
The reason why confusion now surrounds political prophecies is not because God has stopped speaking, but because many are speaking without hearing or seeing but using presumption because they want fame and others are speaking outside of order. If one said it already, let the rest remain silent and pray, if the Lord show you otherwise as you claimed, why wont you meet your brother for a prophetic meeting before coming out to say it publicly. You See why at the end of the day they will say everyone was guessing?
When it comes to political prophecies, we must create order to restore our prophetic credibility and integrity.
Sometimes, those who didn’t see will end up getting it right by mercy, and those who truly saw can miss it by pride or timing. That is how mysterious the prophetic is.
My counsel to every young prophet in Ghana and beyond:
Stay away from political noise.
Build your altar, not your popularity.
Grow your church, not your Twitter and Facebook following.
Disciple men, not divide nations.
Let your message be Christ, not candidates.
If they come to you asking, “Who are you supporting?” tell them, “I support the Kingdom.”
If they mock you for not joining the political show, smile and remember, you are preserving the dignity of a divine office.
The world does not need more political prophets. The world needs passionate prophets from God.
Kindly share 10 times to reach a brother. Shalom!!
