FOUR (4) PERSONS ARRESTED FOR ILLEGAL MINING IN ADANSI ASOKWA.

The Ashanti South Regional Police Command, in a collaborative intelligence-led operation with Dr. Hanna Bisiw CEO of Minerals Development Fund(MDF) and her team arrested four (4) Chinese suspects for engaging in illegal mining activities in Atatam, in the Adansi Asokwa District in the Ashanti Region.

The operation targeted illegal mining sites along the Subin River and Jimi River, both of which serve as crucial sources of drinking water for adjoining communities. The suspects have been identified as; Li Quan (44), Lu Jianzheng (36), Li Xuyu (47), Su Shanxing (63).

During the operation, seven (7) excavators were seized from the illegal mining site and transported to secure police custody. Three (3) pump-action guns were also retrieved from the suspects.

All four (4) suspects are currently in police custody assisting investigations.

PRESENTATION OF A CHEQUE OF GH80,000 TO A MEMBER AT ADOMANU CHPS COMPOUND IN THE ADANSI NORTH DISTRICT

As part of the commitment of the Ghana Registered Nurses and Midwives Association (GRNMA) to the welfare of its members, the association, on Thursday, 24th June, 2025, presented a cheque worth GH80,000 to Miss Nancy Nti of Adomanu CHPS Compound as a health benefit to undergo surgery.

This presentation to Miss Nancy is the second health benefit she has received from GRNMA since 2022, when her condition started.

The team was led by the Adansi North District Chairman, Mr. Francis Oppong-Anane, supported by the Ashanti Regional PRO, Mr. Haruna Yakubu, who doubles as the Parent for the Adansi North District, to make the presentation. Also present were the other District Executives from Adansi North District and the Secretary and members from Obuasi West District who came to support.

The presentation was done at her residence at Obuasi in the presence of her family and friends.

The father of Miss Nti, who couldn’t hide his excitement, commended GRNMA for their good work and expressed his profound gratitude to NEC, REC, Adansi North GRNMA, and the entire Association for bringing joy to his daughter.

It was a very memorable moment, and we pray the Lord touches our Sister with His Healing Hands.

The Leadership of the Adansi North District would like to express its gratitude to NEC and REC for always supporting our members!!
