ALL YOU NEED TO KNOW ABOUT GREAT SOGASCO

Sogakofe Senior High School also known as the Lower Volta Varsity or Sogasco, was established in 1961 as one of the Ghana Government Education Trust Schools under the CPP regime led by Osagyefo Dr. Kwame Nkrumah. It is located at the District Capital of South Tongu, Sogakope (Sogakɔƒe).

The school begun with a modest number of 13 students (nine boys and four girls). At the end of the first term in December 1961, the enrollment increased to 28. In June 1966, the school sat for its first ever WAEC O'Level examination.
Currently, the school has a population of about 5,000 students. The school has produced, engineers, doctors, lawyers, well known politicians, pilots, computer scientists, entrepreneurs among others.

The school has Day and Boarding facilities for Male and Female students. Sogakofe Senior High school is located at Sogakofe on 319.76 square acre land acquired by Government. In terms of physical structure and school size, the school is the largest institution and the first boarding senior high school in the South Tongu District, and also by far the leading school in the district in terms of academic performance and other school activity competitions.
