Active listening goes beyond simply hearing words; it involves truly understanding your partner's feelings and perspective. Here are three practical tips to enhance your listening skills:

Give your full attention: When your partner is speaking, put away distractions like phones or screens. Make eye contact and show that you're fully present in the conversation.

Reflect and validate: After your partner speaks, reflect on what they've said and validate their feelings. For example, you could say, 'I hear that you're feeling [emotion], and that's completely valid.'

Ask open-ended questions: Encourage deeper conversations by asking questions that go beyond a simple 'yes' or 'no.' For instance, 'Can you share more about how you came to feel this way?'

*WHOM IS GOD SENDING TO YOU?*

*MATTHEW 17:16-17*
“So I brought him to Your disciples, but they could not cure him.” Then Jesus answered and said, “O faithless and perverse generation, how long shall I be with you? How long shall I bear with you? Bring him here to Me.”

Jesus gave His disciples the power to cast out demons and to perform miracles of healing (Matt. 10:8). *He gave them His authority to minister to people, yet they became so self-centered that they lost the power to do the work of God.* _When God sent a father with his epileptic son to them for healing, they failed miserably. They were so concerned with position and status (Mark 9:32-35) that they lost their focus on what God wanted to do through them._
Jesus’ response to His disciples included some of the harshest words ever to come from His mouth. *He called His own disciples “unbelieving” and “perverse” and questioned how much longer He had to endure them! Why? Because they were supposed to be on mission with Him to bring salvation to others, but they had become so astray from Him that they were spiritually powerless, lacking the faith to bring physical and spiritual comfort to those God had sent to them.*
God ought to be able to send a hurting person to any child of His and expect that they will be helped. _Like the disciples, we can become so preoccupied with our own ambitions and distracted by the busyness of our lives that we become ineffective in ministering to those whom God sends to us. It is even possible to become so involved in religious activity that we are of no help to anyone._ Regularly take inventory of your life to see if you are being a faithful steward of every life God sends to you.

_And I begged your disciples to cast it out, but they could not."_
*(Luke 9:40)*

_Thursday 17th March, 2022_

*BE THANKFUL FOR WHAT YOU DON'T HAVE*

*1 THESSALONIANS 5:18*
Be thankful in all circumstances, for this is God's will for you who belong to Christ Jesus.

Some people have trouble being thankful *unless they have a perfect life with everything they think they should have.*
_But with the right perspective, you can be thankful when you have nothing._ *You can be thankful at least that you are not being overwhelmed by bad things.* _There are many people on a deathbed with deadly diseases, who would gladly give all their financial assets to be free from their disease._ You probably would too, if you were in that situation. *So, if you are not afflicted with a deadly disease right now, then you can, and should be thankful, no matter what else is happening in your life.* Someone may , I do have a deadly disease and the doctors say there is no hope. How can I be thankful?
*No matter how bad your situation or circumstance in life may be, there is someone somewhere who has it worse than you do.*
Some people desperately wish they had a large house or a fancy car like their neighbor, not realizing the huge payments their neighbor is making. You can be thankful you don't have to make the big monthly payment. *If you are living in peace, you should be thankful that war is not on your doorstep.* _Why not take a moment right now and make a list of all the bad things you are thankful that you don't have._
Say thank you Lord for this situation.

_always and for everything giving thanks in the name of our Lord Jesus Christ to God the Father._ *(Eph 5:20)*

*LIFE WITH THE SHEPHERD*

*PSALMS 23:1-2*
The Lord is my shepherd; I shall not want. He makes me to lie down in green pastures; He leads me beside the still waters.

Living like a sheep can bring you incredible peace of mind. *The biblical shepherd knew everything about his sheep.* _He understood what foods were best for them and what would harm them. He knew when they should eat and when they needed their thirst quenched._ The shepherd was an expert of the terrain and was aware of the best places for food and water. *As long as the sheep trusted and followed their shepherd, they would always have their needs met at the right time. Their shepherd would give them the best that he had.*
_Do you have absolute trust in your Good Shepherd? Do you value the nourishment that comes from Him more than any you might obtain from the world? Do you ever worry that God might be withholding from you something that you need?_ *The Psalmist was convinced that he would “want” for nothing. By His very nature, the Good Shepherd cares for His sheep and would lay down His life for them (John 10:11).*
Have you allowed your focus to shift from the Shepherd to what the Shepherd gives you? *If you find yourself “wanting,” it is not that your Shepherd is unable or unwilling to perfectly meet your needs. It may be that you lack the faith to receive all that He has to give. Could it be that you have become dissatisfied with what your Shepherd has been providing? Are you missing the joy that comes from having a Shepherd who cares for you?* Return to Him and trust Him to meet the needs in your life that only He can.

_I am the good shepherd; I know my own and my own know me,_ *(John 10:14)*

" *Be careful for nothing; but in every thing by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving let your requests be made known unto God. Philippians 4:6"*

God Has given His children an antidote to be free from all anxiety. He is such a loving and gracious God to give us such wonderful keys. The keys to overcome anxiety are prayer, supplication, and thanksgiving. Precious one, Prayer, supplication, and thanksgiving produce the peace of God, which will completely get rid of anxiety from our hearts and minds. This peace also guards our hearts from outside intrusion *. I Decree by Prayer that, May the Holy Spirit get rid of any Anxiety, Worries, Bitterness and Pain from your life today in Jesus Mighty Name. May the Peace of God that passed all understanding guard your heart in Jesus Christ Name. Amen.* God Bless you, Have a Gracious Day.

“ *Now we command you, brethren, in the name of our Lord Jesus Christ, that ye withdraw yourselves from every brother that walketh disorderly, and not after the tradition which he received of us.” 2 Thessalonians 3:6 (KJV* )

Understanding who you are in Christ will guide you in making the right decisions and choices. As a child of God, it is wise to consider the people we choose to walk with in the Christian journey. There are different levels of maturity even among the brethren. No wonder there are some Christians who are prompt in submitting to authority and the leading of the Spirit of God. However, there are others who don’t submit to authority and are fond of disobeying the leading of the Holy Spirit (2 Timothy 4:10). Such Christians don’t live according to the teachings in God’s Word and thus live an undisciplined life. Precious One, be wise to identify such people and stay away from them. They can influence you to be like them and lose the blessings of God. Instead, choose the company of Christians who are quick to live according to the teachings of the Holy Scriptures so that you can be encouraged to live in obedience to the Lord. Living in obedience to the Word of God opens a lot of doors of opportunities for us to be blessed and used of God to bless and draw many to Christ Jesus (Philippians 2:25–26). God Bless you.
