IN MEMORY OF THE LATE DR. ACHONGA PAUL KWODE

It is with profound sadness and a deep sense of loss that we announce the passing of Dr. Achonga Paul Kwode, Senior Lecturer who joined his maker on Tuesday, July 28, 2025. The late Dr. Achonga was a dedicated academic whose life and work left an indelible mark in Tamale Technical University, the Field of Media and Communication and the lives of all who had the privilege of crossing his path. With an illustrious career spanning over a decade, he was a beacon of knowledge, discipline, and intellectual curiosity.
The late Dr. Achonga earned his doctoral degree in Communication from the University of South Africa, and went on to inspire generations of students and colleagues through his teaching, research, and public engagements. His academic portfolio included groundbreaking publications, influential conference presentations, and numerous contributions to curriculum development and scholarly discourse.
The late Dr. Achonga served in several key roles, including, Head of Department, Senior Lecturer, Research Coordinator, Faculty Examinations Officer, and many committees, and was known for his unwavering commitment to academic excellence and ethical leadership. His research in “Funding and Operating of Community Radio in Ghana, Effects of Cyberbullying among Tertiary Students in Ghana, The Erosion of Media Freedom in Ghana” and many more, significantly shaped both policy and practice in the field.
Beyond his academic accomplishments, the late Dr. Achonga was a man of humility, compassion, and unwavering dedication to the development of others. His mentorship nurtured many young academics and professionals who today stand as a testament to his enduring influence.
His loss is not only a personal one to those close to him but a monumental loss to the academic community at large. His legacy will continue to live on through the countless lives he impacted.
