This is deeply troubling. The invasion of Assin Breman and the ongoing pollution of the Pra River is not only an environmental disaster but also a direct assault on community livelihoods, food security, and human health.

We cannot continue to trade the future of our water bodies, forests, and farmlands for short-term illegal gains. The complicity of local authorities and the brazen involvement of foreign actors makes this crisis even more urgent.

We call on the Ministry of Lands and Natural Resources, Environmental Protection Agency, Water Resources Commission, Forestry Commission, and all security agencies to act decisively and immediately. The Pra River must be protected—not only for Assin Breman but for the entire country that depends on its ecosystem services.

Illegal mining must not be normalized. Our communities deserve better. Our rivers must live. 🌍💧🌱
