*DONATION TOWARDS WORLD STROKE DAY CELEBRATION AT TAMALE TEACHING HOSPITAL(TTH)*

The Union of Professional Nurses and Midwives, Ghana (UPNMG) has once again demonstrated its commitment to healthcare excellence and social responsibility by donating *Five Thousand Ghana Cedis (GH₵5,000)* to support activities marking the World Stroke Day Celebration at the Tamale Teaching Hospital (TTH).

The donation was presented by a UPNMG delegation led by the National Second Vice President, Hon. Lexington Maclauglin Amo, on behalf of the National Executive Council of the Union. The presentation was received by the Management of the Stroke Unit, which is coordinating the celebration in collaboration with the hospital administration.

In his address, Hon. Amo reaffirmed UPNMG’s unwavering dedication to strengthening healthcare delivery through strategic support for clinical units, community health education, and professional development. He emphasized that stroke continues to be a significant public health challenge in Ghana, and that collective action and awareness are essential to reduce its burden through early detection and prevention.

Receiving the donation, the Acting Unit In-Charge, Mr. Ganiu, expressed sincere appreciation to UPNMG for the generous gesture, noting that the contribution would greatly enhance the Unit’s outreach, screening, and public awareness campaigns planned for the World Stroke Day event.

This thoughtful intervention by UPNMG underscores the Union’s commitment to advancing public health and supporting national health initiatives. It aligns with its broader vision of empowering healthcare professionals while promoting community well-being and sustainable health outcomes across Ghana.
