Earlier this year we were privileged to have been contracted by Xprize (an international innovation engine that facilitates change for the benefit of humanity) to document a team from Ghana who were competing for the Shell Ocean Discovery. Their task was to develop a technological unit that can travel deep into the ocean to discover new life in the sea. Even though this team was not able to make it to the next round, I was extremely proud of them for making it to the shortlisted group of 19 teams comprising people from all over the world. They did this with no support from the Government or any institution while their competitors had sponsorships from €300,000 and above. These young men and women had to salvage scraps from over 1,000 damaged laptop battery units to build a power system for their project.Imagine what they could have done if they got the support they needed. GHANA NEEDS TO SUPPORT OUR BRILLIANT MINDS!! @ Accra, Ghana
