A Truly Blessed and Emotional Moment in Prang ✨

The household of Sheikh Abdullahi Maikano Jallo (RTA) was filled with immense joy, love, and gratitude as the Regional Chief Imam, the Muftil Arm , and their esteemed delegation graced this year’s 50th Anniversary Mawlid Celebration of Sheikh Ahmed Tijani (RTA) in Prang.

May Allah ﷻ accept this blessed Mawlid, shower His endless mercy and blessings upon Sheikh Ahmed Tijani (RTA), and continue to unite the Ummah upon love, faith, Zikr, and righteousness.

The Northern Regional Mosque, under the leadership of the Northern Regional Chief Imam, Sheikh Abdul Salam Ahmed, together with a delegation of esteemed Islamic clerics and community leaders, paid a solemn visit to the Gbewaa Palace to commiserate with the Royal Family and the entire Dagbon Kingdom following the passing of His Majesty Yaa Naa Abukari Mahama II.

The visit formed part of the Mosque’s spiritual and communal responsibility to stand in solidarity with the people of Dagbon in this moment of profound loss. During the visit, the Chief Imam led prayers for the peaceful repose of the late Overlord, asking Allah to grant him Jannatul Firdaus and to comfort the bereaved family and the kingdom at large.

As a mark of respect and honour, the Chief Imam and members of the delegation also signed the Book of Condolence opened in memory of the late King.

OFFICIAL CONDOLENCE STATEMENT FROM THE OFFICE OF THE REGIONAL CHIEF IMAM

In the Name of Allah, the Most Compassionate, the Most Merciful
> إِنَّا لِلَّٰهِ وَإِنَّا إِلَيْهِ رَاجِعُونَ
> "Indeed, to Allah we belong, and to Him we shall return."

It is with a heavy heart and deep submission to the will of Almighty Allah that the Office of the Northern Region Chief Imam, Al-Sheikh Ahmed Salam, received the sorrowful news of the transition of the Overlord of the Dagbon Kingdom.

On behalf of the Chief Imam, the regional Islamic leadership, and the entire Muslim Ummah, we extend our profound and heartfelt condolences to the Royal Family, the Chiefs, the elders, and the resilient people of the Dagbon Kingdom during this period of immense national loss.

We raise our hands in solemn prayer, asking Allah (سبحانه وتعالى) to:
* Forgive his earthly shortcomings and overlook his flaws.
* Shower his soul with His infinite, boundless mercy.
* Expand and illuminate his resting place with heavenly light.
* Grant him an elevated station in Jannatul Firdaus among the righteous and the prophets.

We further pray that Almighty Allah grants the bereaved royal family, the traditional leadership, and all sons and daughters of Dagbon the ultimate patience (Sabr), strength, and steadfastness required to navigate this profound grief. May He bless the Kingdom with enduring unity, peace, and prosperity in the days ahead, comforting all grieving hearts.
