*LET'S READ SCRIPTURE*

"But you teach a person (church members) that you can tell your father or mother, *"I have something (Money) I could use to help you, but I have given it to God already."* (Matthew.15:5 NCV & PTP Version)

*LET'S TALK INTIMATELY*

Do everything you can to show that you love and appreciate your parents-Father and Mother and value their contributions-*"Bad or good"* to your life: Never exempt either of them in celebrating birthdays and father's days nor mother' days, leaving the other. The scripture says *"If anyone doesn't take care of his own relatives, especially his immediate family, he has denied the Christian faith and is worse than an unbeliever"* (1Tim.5:8)
That's to say, if either of them (Father or mother) didn't care for you he or she had *"denied the faith"* and is *"more than an unbeliever"*. With this, don't you know that judgement is given already by God Yahweh and he doesn't need your aid in punishing your mother or father because you were not cared for? Thus, It’s absolutely wrong for you to be rude or cantankerous to any of them and repay evil for evil simply on the note that she or he didn't care for you or Perhaps your foster parents hurt you or treated you badly, and for that you ordain not to help or care for them.
However, if you're doing that now or about to do that, then stop because Jesus Christ is answering you now, *"why do you disregard the commandment of God Yahweh because of your tradition? Honor your Father and Mother and he who speaks evil of the father or mother, will be put to death"* (Mathew 15:3-4).Remember the words of Apostle Paul: *“Don’t let evil get the upper hand, but conquer evil by doing good”* (Romans 12:21 TLB). Don't pay evil for evil!
Did you know God is interested more in what you would do than what either of them did to you? Consider to ponder on what Apostle Paul said in the above scripture to repent because evil can corrupt you to mock and scorn your father or mother and trust me, you too like either of them won't go free..(Prov.30:17) says. *"The eye that mocks a father and scorns to obey a mother will be plucked out by the ravens of valley and eaten by the vultures"* This is a death and ruin warrant!
Never allow your parents do for themselves things you ought to do for them. If you no longer live with them, there’re other things you can still do, such as ensuring their welfare irrespective of whether or not he or she didn't take care of you. So by now you may say, what do I do then? First, Forgive him or her, so that you dont walk same path. Peter asked Jesus, *“Lord, how often will my brother sin against me, and I forgive him? As many as seven times?”* Jesus said to him, *“I do not say to you seven times, but seventy-seven times"* (Matthew 18:21-22). Apostle Paul also added and tells us in Ephesians 4:32, *“Be kind to one another, tenderhearted, forgiving one another, as God in Christ forgave you.”* and Secondly, pray for your parents and ask the Holy Spirit to help you speak well of them. Thirdly, demonstrate to your parents what healthy love looks like. Show them the love of Christ. And lastly, as you grow into adulthood, endeavor to be the person or parent they weren’t. Break the cycle of heartache and fill the cracks with God’s love and restoration instead.
