"Your voter’s card should not prevent you from voting if you cannot find it on Election Day!"
Did you know? As long as you are a registered voter, you can still exercise your right to vote even if you lose your voter’s card. This important clarification was made by Mr. Francis Osei Nsiah, Ashanti Regional Director of the Electoral Commission, during the Preparing for the Poll and Mock Voting session held as part of the Zonal Electoral Dialogue in Kumasi.
Youth participants were educated on the voting process and their rights as voters. This session is part of the Empowering Youth to Elevate Accountability project, designed to equip young voters with the knowledge they need to make informed and confident decisions during the elections as well as hold leaders accountable on the campaign messages and manifestos.
The Empowering Youth to Elevate Accountability initiative is implemented by the Youth Bridge Foundation, supported by the STAR-Ghana Foundation, and funded by the Foreign, Commonwealth and Development Office (FCDO).
Democracy thrives when everyone has the opportunity to participate. Don’t let anything hold you back from making your voice heard!
