*Subject: LIFTING OF REFUSE CONTAINERS IN NORTH DAWHENYA ELECTORAL AREA– WHO IS RESPONSIBLE*

Greetings to you all, dear residents.

I write to inform and clarify an important matter concerning the *lifting of refuse containers* in our electoral area.

Over the past few months, I have received many complaints and calls regarding delayed lifting of the communal refuse containers at near the Afienya junction (Beside the public toilet)

Some residents have expressed frustration towards me as the Assembly Member of the area when containers overflow.

I wish to state clearly for everyone’s understanding:

*The lifting of refuse containers is the sole responsibility of the District Assembly through its waste management contractor, Zoomlion Ghana Ltd.*

*What this means:*
1. *Zoomlion Ghana Ltd* is contracted and paid by the Ningo Prampram District Assembly to service all communal containers that are branded Zoom Lion Ghana Limited on a scheduled basis.
2. *As your Assembly Member*, my role is to _lobby, monitor, and report_ any delays or problems to the District Waste Management Department and Zoomlion. Which I have done.

3. When you see an overflowing container, the fastest way to get it resolved is to probably report directly to Zoomlion or the District Assembly, while I also follow up from my end.

*What you can do when a container is full/overdue:*
1. *Contact Ningo Prampram District Assembly – Waste Department through your Assembly Member:*

3. *Inform me*: You can still call/text me on your number with photos and location.
I will immediately forward your complaint to the District Coordinating Director and Zoomlion Area Manager for action.

I understand how unpleasant an overflowing container can be. 🙏

Please be assured that I am constantly engaging the District and Zoomlion to improve the lifting schedule in our area.

However, I do not have direct control over the trucks or the timing.

In the meantime...

Let us all help by avoiding indiscriminate dumping and manage our waste properly.

DAWHENYA NEEDS A PROPER BRIDGE, NOT A CULVERT!
Due to the large volume of water flowing from the hills through the Dawhenya Dam and into the LaLue River, the current drainage infrastructure is inadequate to handle heavy rainfall and flooding.
As Dawhenya continues to grow, residents need a bigger, stronger, and properly engineered bridge that can withstand the increasing water flow, ensure public safety, and maintain smooth transportation during the rainy season.
A culvert is not enough. The people of Dawhenya deserve a proper bridge that will serve the community for generations.
