Currently, we’re forced to suspend planting activities on our planting site at Banpewa in the Savannah region of Ghana due to two different weather-related reasons: First, there was a lack of rains on the site for almost two weeks and currently after, heavy rains have been recorded causing some floods on the cleared and demarcated land. ☀️🌧️
But the good news is, that the flooding has not destroyed any of the 5,836 trees already planted there with the efforts of our 20 planters and 1 forester! 🌱
The plantings will be on hold until the water dried up on the cleared and demarcated area of the land. Once we can start planting again, we will plant those kinds of species that like to have more water around in the areas which hold more water. 🌿💧
We will keep you updated as soon as we know more about the resumption of planting.
Thank you for supporting Plant-for-the-Planet Ghana! 💚
