Dr. Kwaku Asante-Krobea, the immediate past President of the Ghana Registered Nurses and Midwives Association (GRNMA), has criticized Health Minister Kwabena Mintah Akandoh for mismanaging the ongoing nurses' strike. He described the Minister’s actions and statements as disrespectful, inflammatory, and unhelpful, accusing him of worsening the situation.

In an interview on Adom FM’s Dwaso Nsem, Dr. Asante-Krobea demanded an apology from the Minister for his dismissive and insulting tone toward the striking nurses, particularly for urging them to return for renegotiation in a condescending manner.

He further accused the Health Ministry of lacking seriousness in addressing the nurses’ grievances, alleging they are “playing games” despite knowing the solutions. He suggested the Minister could meet the nurses halfway to show leadership, rather than dismissing their demands.

Dr. Asante-Krobea also rejected the Minister’s appeal to nurses, calling it inappropriate and accusing him of shifting blame. He emphasized that any patient deaths result from the Minister’s inaction, not the nurses’ demands for their rightful dues, which he insisted are legitimate.
