COURT UPDATE – 18th July 2025: Kanu’s Fate Hangs in the Balance as Court Sets Ruling for October 10

Today in Abuja, the court continued the case of Mazi Nnamdi Kanu.

The government lawyers (Prosecution) answered the request made by Kanu’s lawyers. Kanu’s team had told the court that there is no case against him and asked the judge to end the trial (this is called a no case submission).

After both sides spoke and argued their points, the judge finished hearing them and was ready to give a decision. But because Nigerian courts are going on vacation, the judge said he will give his ruling on 10th October 2025.

That day is very important because:

If the judge agrees with Kanu’s lawyers, he will be set free.

But if the judge says there is a case, then the trial will continue and Kanu’s team will have to defend him.

So now, everyone is waiting for 10th October 2025 to know what will happen next.
