The first step is to upgrade their mental awareness, sense of responsibility, and love for the environment. We must also support every young person in the field of science and technology, as this is what will shape our world into a better, easier, and smoother place for all.

🌍✨ Community Service in Action! ✨🌍

Yesterday, 14th September 2025, we carried out a successful cleaning exercise at the Tanji Healthcare Centre. Members of the Tanji Red Cross Link and Tanji Got Talent Organisation came out in numbers to ensure the clinic’s environment is clean, safe, and welcoming for both patients and staff. 💪🏽🧹

This initiative is part of our ongoing partnership with Tanji Red Cross Link, where we engage and guide youngsters in meaningful community services from an early age.

Special thanks to the Tanji VDC Chairman for generously providing breakfast and water for all the hardworking volunteers. 🙏

We deeply appreciate everyone who joined us yesterday and we look forward to more community activities to raise awareness on the importance of a safe and healthy environment. 🌱💚

However, we cannot do it alone. To strengthen our efforts, we humbly ask for your support with the following tools and items:

🔹 Wheelbarrows
🔹 Rakes
🔹 Sprayer tanks
🔹 Buckets (to help water coconut seedlings at Tanji Bridge entrance)

Young Writers' Association of The Gambia (YWAG), in collaboration with International Association of African Authors and Scholars-Professional Development Institute (IAAAS-PDI), and National Youth Parliament (NYP) Conducted a Three-day Leadership Skills Training Course.

In line with its aim to empower and mentor young people, the Young Writers Association of The Gambia received a delegation of trainers from the United States of America and Nigeria who facilitated a Training on Leadership Skills. The aim of this program is to prepare young people with relevant leadership skills before mounting leadership positions. This is inspired by the belief that Africa's progress lies in a new leadership mindset that is anchored on vision, uprightness, commitment, and selfless service.

The three days training was intensive as over 65 young Gambians were trained by experts and exposed to leadership skills that will better equip them to become the generation of leaders that will salvage Africa.

YWAG and its partners assure their most profound and unalloyed readiness to deliver not only literary excellence but also practical skills to Gambians and Africans at large.

Kanyi is proudly representing Tanji Got Talent Organisation and our entire community in the fight against climate change and its impact on lives and the world at large. 🌱💪

She is among the selected young people taking part in a two-day training at the Local Conference of Youth (LCOY) held at the Sir Dawda Kairaba Jawara International Conference Centre.

We are proud of her continued dedication, perseverance, and self-confidence, which she demonstrates in her everyday life. Watching Kanyi grow into a passionate learner who seeks knowledge assures us of a brighter and more progressive future for our society. 🌟📚

Young Writers' Association of The Gambia (YWAG) organised a Summer Writing Training.

A weekend filled with love, life and creativity; passion was the ointment_ the energy that once again proved the answers to the young literary enthusiasts in the Gambia.
Young Writers' Association of The Gambia (YWAG), under the leadership of H.E Kebba S. Juwara organised a two-day writing session: 30 and 31st of August 2025 at the University of Education, formally called, The Gambia College.
The training was centered on: Poetry writing, fiction, spoken word, copyright and intellectual property.
Taking participants through the various session, Mr. Musa Bah (The Scribbler), a heavyweight champion and renowned author took participants through Story and Fiction writing, where he carefully delved into. How to start and makes a good writing .

Fatoumata A Jallow , a youth activist and brilliant *spoken word artist,* another facilitator, also proved magic with her deliberations. With so much energy and eloquence, her voice echoed in the heart of participants, who were left with so much amazements, a choice to only protest that the session shouldn't have ended so soon.
Such a successful training it was, participants were awarded with certificates of attendance which followed a group photo, unending smiles; a deep rooted zest for creative writing and related genre.

We thank all the facilitators once again and reiterate on our commitments to the service of the young writers in the Gambia.
