Breaking news A migrants boat from Barra in Gambia arrived safely in Spain this evening
The Maritime Rescue vessel, Salvamar Navia, transferred this afternoon, around 6:30 p.m., to the dock of La Restinga, in the municipality of El Pinar, aboard the rescue ship, the 101 crew members of a canoe located 110 miles south of El Hierro, None of these people have been transferred to the Hospital
The vessel was spotted this morning by the crew of a sailboat from the ARC transatlantic regatta that crossed paths with the canoe, and provided the information to the emergency services who pinpointed its location 210 kilometers from the port of La Restinga, with the help of the Maritime Rescue search plane Sesamar 103.
According to information gathered from health and emergency services, there were 101 people, mostly men of sub-Saharan origin, including 32 women and 7 minors, who were treated at the port of El Hierro
According to the migrants themselves, they had made a six-day journey from Barra, Gambia. People from Gambia, Senegal, and Guinea Conakry were on board the vessel.
