YOUNG BASSERIAN LAUNCHES MOBILE APP TO PROVIDE STUDY SOLUTION FOR EXAM-BOUND STUDENTS
Born in Basse Santa Su in The Gambiaโs Upper River Region, a young dreamer dared to imagine a solution to a problem that has challenged thousands of students for years.
Mudasiru Jallow, a determined and visionary Computer Science graduate from SRM University in Andhra Pradesh, India, has turned that dream into reality with the launch of an innovative educational mobile application called WAEC Wizard.
Mudasiruโs journey began humbly at Koba K***a Lower Basic School, where his curiosity and discipline quickly set him apart. He continued his education in Nasir, excelling through middle and high school, and consistently earning the trust of his peers and teachers as head boy at every stage.
Leadership came naturally to him, but so did awareness, an awareness of the struggles students faced, especially in rural communities where access to quality learning materials is limited.
Driven by these experiences, Mudasiru carried a powerful idea with him when he traveled abroad to pursue his bachelorโs degree in Computer Science. While studying in India, he remained deeply connected to home, constantly reflecting on how technology could bridge the educational gap he had witnessed growing up.
That vision gave birth to WAEC Wizard, an offline mobile application designed to help students effectively prepare for exams, particularly the West African Senior School Certificate Examination shortly called WASSCE Built with accessibility in mind, the app allows students to study anytime and anywhere, even without internet access โ a game-changer for many.
โThe journey was not easy,โ Mudasiru shared. โThe app faced multiple challenges, including several rejections by Google before it could be accepted on the Play Store.โ
Where many would have given up, Mudasiru persisted. He refined, improved, and kept pushing forward. His resilience paid off when, in April 2026, WAEC Wizard was finally launched on the Google Play Store โ a proud moment not just for him, but for The Gambia.
Today, the app offers students access to over 3,500 multiple-choice questions, more than 400 theory questions, and a scoring system, all available offline. With an approval of the Ministry of Basic Education, it is now more than an app, it is a tool of empowerment for students striving to succeed against the odds.
His dream stretches far beyond borders. He envisions WAEC Wizard evolving into a global learning platform, one that will continue to grow, improve, and reach students not only in The Gambia, but across Africa and the world..
