“Why I Don’t Endorse GALA”- By Fatou Danso.

“The reason I do not endorse GALA is because of the individuals behind it. It is hypocritical for a movement to claim to stand against corruption when its own members are deeply entangled in questionable behavior.

Take Kexx Sanneh, for example a man who was arrested for giving false information to the police and even went as far as staging his own disappearance by pretending to be hypnotized and buried at a cemetery. How can such a person be trusted to lead a national conversation on integrity?

Then there is Alieu Bah, who faced serious allegations of abusing multiple women allegations that forced him to leave social media for a long period. Leadership requires moral credibility, and anyone accused of harming others, especially women, should not be the face of a movement that claims to represent justice.

Lastly, Bob Keita who received $10,000 and a diplomatic passport from the president.is yet another example of the contradiction. How can someone accept such privileges from the same system they claim to be fighting?

In truth, GALA has lost its moral ground. A true fight against corruption requires clean hands and pure intentions. Unfortunately, those leading GALA have neither, ”Said Fatou Danso.

Barrow Is Here To Stay Says Ahmad Gitteh./ Gala Protest Against Rampant Corruption In The Gambia.

Thousands of proud and determined Gambians took to the streets of Westfield today in a powerful show of unity and resistance against rampant corruption and poor governance.

The Gala Protest, fueled by growing frustration and a demand for accountability, marks a significant moment in our nation's civic awakening. As voices rang loud and clear, one message echoed across the crowd: The Gambian people are awake, aware, and ready to act.

The protest was peaceful, purposeful, and filled with the spirit of justice. Citizens from all walks of life stood shoulder to shoulder, raising banners and chanting for a better future.

In response to recent political declarations such as “Barrow is here to stay,” made by Ahmad Gitteh, the protest reflects the sentiment of many who feel that staying in power should never come at the cost of transparency, dignity, or democracy.

We ask you, the people of The Gambia and the broader international community: What’s your take on this? Do you believe Gambians are moving in the right direction?

Will you stand with the people demanding change?
Let your voice be heard. The future of The Gambia depends on it.

NEVER marry a woman from a family richer than yours: I am a 33-year-old man, and I have been married to my 24-year-old wife for five years.

My father-in-law is a very wealthy businessman, and early in our marriage, he gifted us a well-constructed plot of land. For a while, life was peaceful, especially during the early stages of our relationship.

However, things began to change significantly after the birth of our first daughter. Despite working full-time, I am expected to assume full responsibility for childcare upon returning home.

I feed the baby, change her diapers, clean the house, prepare meals, and manage household chores, leaving me with no personal time to rest, watch television, or socialize with friends.

My wife does not work, yet she dictates every aspect of our home life, including our daily schedule and even our intimate relationship. I have complied with her wishes without complaint because I love her deeply and fear losing her.

However, matters have worsened considerably since her father gifted her a car. She now expects me to wash and maintain the vehicle, frequently belittles me, and has become physically abusive.

On one occasion, the violence escalated to the point that I required hospitalization. I carry physical scars from these incidents, and emotionally, I live in a state of constant fear and anxiety. I panic when I see her, yet I still love her.

I am reaching out to ask: What can I do to change this situation? I am desperate to find a solution that protects my well-being without destroying my marriage.

Man Assaults Woman After Scamming Her Allegedly At Workshop/ What is your take?

A woman has accused a local automotive repair shop, Automotive Technical Ceesay, Your Germany Partner for Solutions, at Farato Bojang Kounda, of assault and fraud after allegedly being attacked by staff under the supervision of the business owner, Mr. Ceesay.

The woman stated she paid D6,000 in advance in November 2024 for gearbox repairs on her Toyota Avensis, but after months of delay and unresponsiveness, she returned on July 21, 2025, to find car parts missing.

Upon confronting the staff, she was reportedly insulted and physically assaulted. While on the phone, Mr. Ceesay allegedly dismissed her concerns, referring to her vehicle as a "cheap car."

"I paid 6,000 dalasis in good faith for a service that was never delivered. Instead of being treated with respect as a paying customer, I was insulted, humiliated, and physically assaulted when I simply asked for my car or a refund.

While on the phone with Mr. Ceesay, he referred to my Toyota Avensis as a 'cheap car.' Is this how customers deserve to be treated?"

The incident has been reported to the Farato Police Station. This case follows previous customer complaints against the same business and has prompted renewed calls for stronger regulation of the auto repair sector.

We ask the general public: What is your take on this matter? Should authorities take stricter action against workshops accused of fraud and violence?

“Gambians Gossip Too Much,” Says Alasana Gitteh on VM Show.

Alasana Gitteh has sparked national conversation after calling out what he describes as a destructive culture of gossip in The Gambia.

Speaking on the VM Show, he warned that constant gossip targeting everyone from the President to religious leaders is distracting the country from real progress.

Gitteh voiced his frustration. “In The Gambia, people gossip about everything! They gossip about the President, Ministers, Imams, and even private citizens. It seems no one is exempt.”

Gitteh’s remarks reflect a deeper concern about the nation's focus. While other countries are investing in innovation and building stronger economies, he believes many Gambians are caught in a cycle of idle chatter and judgmental behavior.

“It’s only in The Gambia where someone is more concerned about how you dress than about how they can contribute to national development,” he remarked.

“While others are working hard to transform their countries, we’re stuck in a cycle of gossip and distraction.”

Gitteh urged Gambians to shift their focus from social criticism to education, hard work, and unity. His bold comments have stirred debate across the country.
