Nioro Jattaba Cluster Teachers Hold Annual Gala

The Nioro Jattaba Cluster Teachers Association held its annual Gala on July 5, 2025, uniting educators and stakeholders to celebrate excellence, foster unity, and promote professional growth.

Key speakers, including Mr. Omar K. Sallah and Mr. Bubacarr Darboe, emphasized student mentorship, unity, and continued learning. Hon. Bakary K. Badjie, NAM for Foni Bintang, praised teachers’ dedication and urged them to take an active role in addressing national challenges.

Certificates were awarded to several Lower Basic Schools, and the association celebrated a growth in membership from 40 to 90 within a year.

Kabada TV Field Tour – Kabada Region

Kabada TV recently conducted a comprehensive field tour across the Kabada area, reinforcing our commitment to highlighting local voices and cultural heritage. During this mission, our team engaged with a wide range of individuals including politicians, Islamic scholars, musicians, and other influential community members.

Some of the notable personalities and groups we had the honor to meet include:

Faya – Kabada’s Wrestling Warrior Making Waves in Senegal

From the village of Sare Bokara in Kabada, emerges a fearless fighter and rising star in the world of Mbapat (traditional wrestling) — Faya. He began his journey in Sare Bokara and quickly became a dominant force across the Kabada area, competing in villages like Sare Alkali, Touba Mourit, and Sare Sama. For five solid years, Faya remained undefeated, earning the respect and admiration of his people.

With bigger dreams, Faya moved to Kunkujang in The Gambia, where he helped pioneer modern Mbapat — full-contact wrestling that pushed limits. His talent caught the attention of the father of Senegalese wrestling legend Ama Baldé, who saw greatness in Faya and brought him to Dakar, Senegal. There, he lived in Pikine with Ama Baldé’s family, further sharpening his skills.

Faya later relocated to Guédiawaye, where his sister resides, and continued wrestling while working hard. In Senegal’s competitive arena, he has already fought 5 professional combats, winning 2, losing 3— a promising start in a new wrestling world.

He now prepares for his next big comba on 12th July 2025, and he is calling on all Kabada people to support him with prayers, encouragement, and unity.

“I may fight alone in the ring,” he says, “but I carry the strength and pride of Kabada in my heart.”

Let’s stand behind Faya — a true son of Kabada, lifting our name with every step he takes. His courage is our pride. His fight is our legacy.

Abubacarr Jawo – From Madina Sasita to Master of Metal

Hailing from Madina Sasita in Kabada, Abubacarr Jawo is a true testament to how passion, patience, and perseverance can shape success.

His journey began in 2010 in Jarra Soma, where he spent 3 to 4 years learning the art of welding. Eager to grow, he later moved to Manjai, where he completed his training and mastered his skills. With dedication and discipline, he joined Trusted Construction, a company that recognized his talent and trusted him with real work. There, he built his experience for 4 to 5 years.

In 2025, Abubacarr took a bold leap and launched his own welding business, producing doors, windows, beds, wheelbarrows, and more. Today, he proudly operates his workshop in Jambur, serving clients with quality craftsmanship and inspiring a new generation.

His message to the youth of Kabada is powerful:
Learn a skill. There’s nothing more fulfilling than being your own boss.”

Kabada TV proudly celebrates one of our own—Ismaila Sallah, son of the late Alkalo Musa Sallah of Missera village, who has just graduated with a Master’s Degree in Environmental Science and Engineering from the prestigious China University of Geosciences, Wuhan.

From the red earth of Kabada to the halls of global academia, Ismaila’s story is a shining example of what resilience, family support, and educational opportunity can achieve. He carried his roots with him across continents—his mother’s strength, his late father’s values, his teachers’ guidance, and his brother Samba’s unwavering belief in him.

From topping his class at Missera Primary, excelling at Nioro Jattaba and Masroor, to teaching while studying at the University of The Gambia, Ismaila has lived the principle that true education must be shared.

From Sumbundu to Success — Cherno Baba Ndongo Shines

From humble beginnings at Chamen Technical Training Institute, where he studied Electrical Installation and earned a City & Guilds Advanced Diploma, to proudly walking the stage today with a Bachelor of Science Degree in Electrical and Electronic Engineering the journey of Cherno Baba Ndongo, from Sumbundu in Kabada, has been long, challenging, and deeply inspiring.

In 2019, Cherno earned admission into the Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology (KNUST) through its partnership with The Gambia’s University of Applied Science, Engineering and Technology (USET). This opportunity came under the prestigious Africa Higher Education Centres of Excellence (ACE) Impact Project, funded by the World Bank.

Today, Cherno stands not just as a graduate, but as a symbol of perseverance, hard work, and purpose. His achievement is a proud moment for Sumbundu, Kabada, and The Gambia as a whole.

Kabada's Biggest Friendly Match Yet!

Today, Monday, Misera FC—the Border Boys and champions of Jarra West—face the *Kiang West boys of Nioro Jattaba* in a historic friendly match. This marks the first-ever friendly appearance for the Misera boys in Jarra West and for Nioro Jattaba in Kiang West, uniting both villages through the power of football.

The match will take place at the *Misera Football Field* and will highlight outstanding local talent, including two of Kabada’s football icons. Let’s show up in numbers to support our youth and promote unity and sportsmanship in our communities.
