Former Senegalese Prime Minister Ousmane Sonko has called for full transparency over the country's latest technical agreement with the International Monetary Fund (IMF).

Sonko questioned Senegal's commitments on debt management, public finance reforms, domestic resource mobilisation, social protection and public spending.

He urged the government to publish the Memorandum of Economic and Financial Policies agreed with the IMF or submit it to the National Assembly for scrutiny.

Sonko said Senegalese citizens have the right to know the commitments being made in their name, stressing that "the debate will take place."
