๐Ÿ‡ฌ๐Ÿ‡ฒ๐†๐š๐ฆ๐›๐ข๐š, Our Immigration Department (GID) has completed the production and dispatch of 1,308 biometric passports enrolled during its mobile registration exercise in Spain and Italy.

The department said 126 applications from Spain were flagged due to inconsistencies in applicants' biodata, while 389 applications from Milan, Italy, are still being processed.

GID urged affected applicants to resolve the issues and reaffirmed its commitment to safeguarding the integrity of Gambian passports and preventing document fraud

๐Ÿ‡ฌ๐Ÿ‡ฒ๐”๐๐ƒ๐€๐“๐„: A police officer has died following a road traffic accident involving a Police Intervention Unit (PIU) vehicle along the Jammeh Kunda-Salikenni highway on Thursday.

According to the Gambia Police Force, the vehicle collided with a cow that suddenly crossed the road while officers were on es**rt duties, causing the driver to lose control.
Police Constable 9088 Lamin Badjie of Kerewan PIU sustained serious injuries and later died at Kerewan Health Centre.

Other officers involved in the accident suffered minor injuries and are currently receiving treatment.

The Police High Command has extended condolences to the family, colleagues, and loved ones of the late officer.

๐Ÿ‡ฌ๐Ÿ‡ฒ๐†๐š๐ฆ๐›๐ข๐š, The Ministry of Youth and Sports has clarified that the Independence Stadium is not yet ready to host international matches in June 2026, stating that rehabilitation works are still ongoing and awaiting CAF approval.

In a statement released today, the Ministry said although significant progress has been made on the pitch and stadium infrastructure, key works including the athletics track installation and other finishing touches remain incomplete.

The Ministry added that no official clearance was granted for any international match to be played at the stadium in June, describing earlier announcements by the Gambia Football Federation as premature.

Authorities, however, reaffirmed their commitment to completing the project and ensuring the facility meets international standards before reopening for competitive matches.
