GID Completes Vetting for 2025 Recruitment, 1,130 Candidates Advance

The Gambia Immigration Department has announced the completion of its screening, vetting, and interview processes for the 2025 recruitment exercise. A total of 1,130 applicants have successfully passed and will now proceed to the Basic Fitness Test (BFT) scheduled for Saturday, 13th December 2025 at the GID Training School in Tanjai, starting at 08:00hrs. The full list of shortlisted candidates is posted at major Immigration Stations nationwide.

All selected applicants are required to report to Tanjai on Friday, 12th December 2025 at 08:00hrs for profiling. The Department says updates on those who successfully complete the BFT will be released ahead of the Written Competency Examinations.

The Office of the President informs the public that His Excellency Adama Barrow, President of the Republic of The Gambia, will attend the inauguration of His Excellency President Alassane Ouattara in Abidjan, Ivory Coast on Monday, 8th December 2025.

The President and delegation will depart Banjul International Airport tomorrow, Sunday, 7th December 2025 at 3:00PM.

The Gambia Amputee Football Association is in Senegal to participate in this year's Amputee Football competition in Senegal.

The Ministry of Youth & Sports is proud to support the association with D 550,000 to support their participation, including transport, lodging and allowances.

The tourney that is being played in the city of Dieuppeul, once again gives our country's Amputee footballers the opportunity to showcase their talents at the continental level.

The Gambia has rolled out new digital tools ahead of the 2025/2026 groundnut season, introducing motorised screening machines and Point of Sale (POS) devices to modernise the trade process.

The Agriculture Ministry launched the system at NFSPMC in Banjul, saying the machines will improve groundnut cleaning and reduce losses, while POS devices will enable digital payments for greater transparency and faster transactions.

The launch was officiated by Agriculture Minister Demba Sabally and NFSPMC Managing Director Muhammed Njie, with farmers and stakeholders in attendance.

President Barrow today received a major donation from Qatar Charity, 130 cargo tricycles, 130 tuk-tuks, and 100 milling machines, all aimed at boosting youth jobs and women’s cooperatives.

The President hailed it as a “historic” support to the YIRIWA Agenda, while the NDMA says the items will strengthen community resilience. Qatar Charity has invested over $5M in Gambian projects since 2019.

The Qatar Ambassador also donated school bags and stationery to orphans at the event.
