We are pleased to remind you that the Gambia(E)Scena Performing Arts & Film Exchange opens today at 8:00 PM at the School of Journalism & Digital Media, Kanifing Campus.

Event Highlights:

Today, 5 December – 8:00 PM: Official Opening of the 6th CineKambiya International Film Festival (CIFF)

Saturday, 6 December – 7:00 PM: Screening of the Spanish documentary Gurumbé: Songs of Your Black Memory followed by a debate

Sunday, 7 December – 7:00 PM: Dance Competition featuring Flamenco & African Dance Fusion

Join us as we celebrate a cultural bridge between Spain and The Gambia through film, dance, and the performing arts!

Today I had the chance to meet the amazing .

🛩️She is heading next week to Spain to participate in the Raisa Program, that will bring together 5 prominent female leaders from África.

She is only 27 years old, and she is the Deputy Director of the National Youth Service Scheme of The Gambia.

With an amazing background in civic activism, on constitutional reform, electoral observation, women's rights, transitional justice (and more), she is such an inspiration for girls and women in The Gambia. A young powerful women, with a clear vision and passion for the development of her country.

Wishing her a fruitful stay in Spain.

💫NGO is doing amazing at the school "MBM Academy", in Batakunku.

🏫They support not only the school, but also the clinic of the community.
Recently they built new toilets, brought sport material, computers for the new IT Class, and provided menstrual pants for the girls.
The improving of services by the school has incresed enrolment, from 80 to 130 students over the last few months.

👏Our gratitude to them and to Escola Lluis Vives de Casteldefels, that has built a twinning between both schools and donated the material.

Fruitful meeting today with Director of RMNCAH (Ministry of Health) on how to collaborate to support maternal health and reduce mortality rate.

The team of ASEDA Gambia was there to present a very interesting pilot project that will monitor and take care of over 1000 pregnant women 🙏💜

Yesterday, we participated in the launch of a new project funded by EU (and Spain) to reinforce access to secondary education with a focus on women and vulnerable students.
