One of our little boats traveled from Salamina to Athens, where it met Nektarios Theodorou, who won one of the five equal awards for Best Short Film with his film "Your hope is being forwarded". The meeting took place at Alma Mater, a space for Art, Culture, Work & Learning, where Foti Kllogjeri presented his first solo exhibition in Greece, dedicated exclusively to his watercolor works, titled "HORIZONS", curated by Paris Kapralos. We thank Elena Ttsitsigianni for the wonderful hospitality!

The competition awards, created by artist Sofia Kalligeri, were truly impressive. These carved ships with their sails evoke a sense of tradition and the sea, harmoniously blending the island’s aesthetic with Kalligeri's inspiration. These unique works of art symbolize the spirit of exploration and creativity, honoring the efforts of the participating directors.

Sofia Kalligeri’s distinctive artistic identity and sensitivity gave the awards a special dimension, transforming them into symbols of success and inspiration for all participants. The evening’s guest of honor was the acclaimed director Kostas Ferris, who could not attend due to a departure to Egypt but sent a heartfelt message, expressing his gratitude for the recognition of his work. In his message, he wrote:
"As I prepare to return to my beloved birthplace, Egypt, it is deeply moving to receive another acknowledgment of my work from my cultural homeland, Greece. Thank you all, and I hope we can continue making strides for the culture of our country in the future. Let us overcome the harmful habits of division and intolerance. Thank you again, from the bottom of my heart."
Kostas Ferris’ presence, even from afar, honored the evening, with his message reminding us of the value of unity and dedication to art and culture.
