Eine Fremde in der Heimat, eine Ausgegrenzte in der eigenen Familie – in „Tod in der Bucht – Ein Kreta-Krimi“ schlüpft Naomi Krauss in eine ungewöhnliche Ermittlerinnenrolle. Als neue Chefin des Morddezernats Rethymnon kehrt die weltoffene Hauptkommissarin an ihren Geburtsort zurück – und erlebt bei ihrem ersten Fall, dass Vertrautheit zugleich Vorteil und Belastung sein kann. Denn im Fall des ermordeten Bauamtsleiters gerät der Verlobte ihrer Nichte in Verdacht. Unterstützt wird sie von einem jungen Team – gespielt von Franziska von Harsdorf und Danilo Kamperidis.

„Tod in der Bucht – Ein Kreta-Krimi“ ist eine Produktion der RELEVANT FILM (Produzentin: Heike Wiehle-Timm, Junior-Producerin: Rieke Bubert) im Auftrag der ARD Degeto Film für die ARD. Katerina Mavrogiorgi writes, acts and directs both for the cinema and for the theatre. In cinema, she has played in films directed by Argyris Papadimitropoulos, Zacharias Mavroeidis, Pantelis Voulgaris and Thelgia Petraki. She has been awarded the Stavros Niarchos Foundation Artist Fellowship by Artworks (2022).

🎥✨ The sold-out world premiere of UTOPOLIS at the Thessaloniki International Film Festival was an incredible event that filled us with joy! A fascinating evening in the presence of the creators and the cast of the film.

After the screening, an engaging Q&A session provided audience with a chance to dive deeper into the film’s themes and behind-the-scenes stories. The cast received plenty of insightful questions, and they didn't hold back—sharing details about the movie's development, the challenges they faced, and the inspiration behind their roles.

Avaton Films, together with production partners Deal Productions, is proud to have brought the story of UTOPOLIS into the big screen, and we are particularly happy for the enthusiastic “welcome” of the audience!

Goran Bogdan discusses the character of "Timur", a silent guy, a refugee who works at the Utopolis construction site.

Timur - Goran Bogdan is a Bosnian-born Croatian actor. He has appeared in more than 40 films since 2005. In 2013, he was named the theatre actor of the year by the Teatar. hr Awards. For his role in the Branco Schmidt film Agape, he won the 2017 Vladimir Nazor Award for excellence in film. His role in the 2020 film "Otac" earned him universal acclaim and made history by becoming the first Croatian actor nominated at the European Film Awards for Best Actor.

Sotiris - Andreas Konstantinou is an actor known for "Cloudy Sunday" (2015), "The Last Note" (2017) and "O thanatos pou oneireftika" (2010). In 2011 he won during the LAIUFF Awards, the Best Actor Award for "The Silence of the Dying Fish". In 2018 he won during the Greek Short Stories In Competition, the Best Actor Award for "O thanatos pou oneireftika" and he won the Best Actor Award during the Hellenic Academy Award for "The Last Note".

Yannis - Makis Papadimitriou is known for "Suntan" (2016), "Amerika Square" (2016) and "Flux Gourmet" (2022). Winner of the "Dimitris Horn Theater Award" in 2009 for his performance as Lee in the play "Motortown" by Simon Stephens, directed by Vaggelis Theodoropoulos at the Theatre of the New World.
