We’re thrilled to be working with SOLE DXB once again. After nearly a decade of collaborating with one of the region’s most forward-thinking festivals in different capacities, it’s an honour to be back this year.

Once again, SOLE DXB delivers exceptional curation and programming, impeccable production, and a truly top-tier international festival experience. It’s no surprise they continue to return stronger every year — the depth and quality of this year’s lineup speaks for itself.

This time, we’re proud to be bringing DAR DISKU, in collaboration with Patrón.

We’ve watched the DAR DISKU boys evolve into outstanding artists since relocating to London, consistently hitting international stages and refining their sound over the past several years. Seeing them return to the region to showcase their productions, DJ craft, and musical vision feels like a full-circle moment.

Last night in Beirut started off in a beautiful Armenian church, soaking in the sounds of the Yerevan String Quartet — pure grace and soul - transcendant

Then straight into some good old resistance soundtrack energy with 47Soul at Metro, the crowd electric, the rhythm undeniable.

Wrapped it all up the only way you should in this city — a street sandwich from Barbar.

In the words of Chuck D P.E— don’t believe the hype.

Dropped by .athens (Kypseli, Athens) last night on the vinyl listening bar hunt. Incredible spot — warm lighting, retro touches, crisp sound, and staff who clearly care. On the decks was Dimitri Papaioannou spinning World Jazz Obscurities (you might know his “Method to Madness / work). I sat back, dug into the vibe, letting the sounds wash over me — the kind of unhurried listening environment I keep chasing in this city. Already looking forward to going back to this place. Must visit if you're in Athens 🇬🇷🤍

Somewhere around ‘85, climbing all over Mum and Dad like a jungle gym. It’s been the three of us from the start — grateful for the love, the laughs, and the lifelong team!

Thank you, Paris.

It’s been difficult to find the right words, but I couldn’t let this moment pass without honouring you. Paris, you were a pivotal figure in Australian music, a journalist, DJ, producer, label head, and a passionate champion of the culture, always putting the music and the community first.

You gave me my first radio introduction over 20 years ago on the Groovescooter Show at Eastside. I was so nervous and you helped me transmute it instantly. I'll always remember that day. You and Georgie have been there for me ever since, encouraging me, supporting my projects, and most recently helping me ground myself again in Sydney after returning home. We were lucky to work together on some things since I returned, I'm so grateful for. Jazzie B, Nicky Siano, Nabiha Iqbal, Byron the Aquarius, and Habibi Funk. Each time bringing people together with heart and purpose.

My family and I love you dearly. We’re heartbroken you’ve left us, and we know Sydney and Australia won’t be the same without you. Thank you for your generosity, your spirit, and the courage you shared with all of us. You’ll always be part of the soundtrack of our lives.

Rest in power, Paris ❤️

Seeing Chaka Khan live at the Sydney Opera House with my mum—what a gift.

So much of my love for music, soul, and Black music comes from her. She planted those seeds nice and early. To be able to share this moment with her now… I’m beyond grateful.

Music connects generations. And last night, it brought ours even closer again!

Thank you, . Thank you Thank you, Mum. Thank you, music.

📷 thanks Trish!

Electronic Music Life is proud to bring the legendary Music Institute tour to Australia for the first time, featuring house music pioneers Chez Damier and Alton Miller.

When the Music Institute opened its doors in 1988, it was more than just a club. It was a cultural phenomenon. Though short-lived, it left an indelible mark on Detroit and the global dance music scene, championing techno, house, disco, and funk, while laying the foundation for modern dance music.

Decades later, its impact continues to inspire artists and music lovers worldwide.

Don’t miss this rare chance to experience the soulful sounds and enduring legacy of Detroit’s Music Institute as Chez and Alton bring their magic to Australia.

The tour kicks off this weekend with these must-see shows:

📅28.12.24 Kaurna County/Adelaide: Inside Out x Sugar Park Festival
📅04.01.25 Naarm/Melbourne: Dance Flaws Presents at The Night Cat
📅08.01.25 Bundjalung/Byron Bay: Paradiso Music Room
📅10.01.25 Eora/Sydney: Sydney Festival, City Recital Hall

Let’s celebrate the history and future of house music together. Grab your tickets now and join the movement!
