Spearfishing in the Magical Reefs of the Eastern Aegean!
These spectacular reefs once held enormous fish in incredible numbers. Even today, they can still offer breathtaking underwater scenery and unforgettable thrills!
Dentex, Goldblotch groupers, Dusky groupers, Barracudas, Sargus, Brown meagre… and these were just some of the fish we eventually encountered while exploring the magical reefs of the Eastern Aegean!

A Catch Straight Out of the Past and an Unbelievable Moment with a Huge Grouper!!!
It was one of those days when the sea just wanted to give!
Sargus, Saddled seabreams and Corvinas in the shallows and with every deeper dive, we had Amberjacks, Goldblotch groupers and Dentex all around us!!!
With two beautiful fish each, we would eventually decide to call it a day and head back, even though we could have caught many, many more…

Dentex Everywhere at Just 10m Depth!!!
I’ll enter the water as the sun is rising, and from the very first dive, I’ll realize that there are dentex everywhere around me!!!
Dive after dive, I’ll try to pick out the biggest fish in the school, and just 15 minutes later by 7:55, I find myself holding three beautiful dentex and ready to head back home!

Giant Amberjacks Following a Huge Dentex at 12m!!!

An incredible day at sea with an unbelievable moment in shallow water, when a 30+ kg amberjack suddenly appears from the blue, accompanied by several more weighing around 20 kg — all of them following a huge dentex!

A long-range shot will bring the fish to the surface, and the entire hunt will be over in just 11 dives!

I caught another Δusky grouper at this spot, 16 years later!
Spots that have been stored in my brain’s GPS for decades, and with proper management, they’ve been consistently giving me fish for over 20 years!
One of these spots is the place where, for 16 years, I DID NOT shoot any Dusky groupers, taking only the Goldblotch groupers and Dentex that each kingfish gathered around him!

I Discovered a 2,500-Year-Old Ancient Shipwreck!!!

A different but truly special video, featuring the discovery of an ancient shipwreck at a depth of 42–44 meters!
The accidental initial discovery, while following a stele, and the guidance of archaeologists to the site for its official documentation.
Catching fish doesn’t mean much…
But managing to discover a shipwreck that has been lying beneath the sea for 2,500 years, dating back to the 5th century BC, and in doing so contributing to the cultural heritage of your country, is an achievement of immense value!

Dentex Right Under My Feet!
A day of shallow-water spearfishing, at depths of no more than 10 meters, with fish everywhere—ranging from 1.5 all the way up to 9 kg!!!
Heavily weighted and doing most of my ambushes at depths of just 3–6 meters, the spot would reveal all its glory. Once again, I would return home with a magnificent queen of the sea—one that passed right under my feet!
