During the recent Philoxenia–Hotelia exhibition in Thessaloniki, where we participated, we had the chance to chat with Ms. Angeliki Eleftheriou, our COO, CMO & Corporate Communications.

She shared her insights on two key themes discussed at the event: Culture & AI and Culture & Content, reflecting on the progress made so far and how she envisions their evolution in the future.

Looking ahead, one of our goals is to democratize access to cultural heritage through technology, making immersive AR and VR experiences available to everyone, regardless of location or financial capability.

🏺✨ We had an amazing weekend in Thessaloniki 2025

At the ODAP booth, we presented a special preview of the Hellenic Heritage AR app, where visitors could revive the Monument of the Eponymous Heroes with the help of webAR and VPS technologies.

As part of the contractor team OTE–SingularLogic–Radiant, MOPTIL is contributing to ODAP’s national digital heritage project by creating AR experiences that make culture more accessible for everyone.

This project marks an important step in ODAP’s digital transformation, and we’re excited that Hellenic Heritage AR will soon be freely available to the public. Stay tuned! 👀

is truly the achievement of a diverse team: 3D artists, scriptwriters, archaeologists, developers, and many more. It started 12 years ago, and today it has more than 500K users. 👏 Thank you all for making this possible!

It was great to have our Head of UI/UX, Vasiliki Karathanasi, and our Product Marketing Manager for DIGIPAST, Georgia Koutsougera, at the ceremony to celebrate these achievements.

A warm thank you also to the jury and to BOUSSIAS for organizing such a remarkable event.

Sitting at the same table with some of the biggest players in the industry, MOPTIL is proud to have won the Gold Award in the & category at the BITE Awards 2025, for our VR web app .

A few words about DIGIPAST:
It all started 11 years ago on tablets at archaeological sites across Greece. From there, it grew into mobile apps, and today it is a fully accessible web app. DIGIPAST has been reshaped with three strategic goals: , , and .

Visitors now simply scan a QR code and instantly access virtual tours with 3D reconstructions, 360° panoramas, and narration, without downloads, accounts, or extra devices. This “scan & go” approach reduces cost and complexity for tour operators, while empowering travelers to enjoy seamless cultural experiences directly on their phones.

By transitioning to the web, DIGIPAST is making cultural heritage more , , and globally , setting new standards for digital tourism in Greece and beyond.

The iconic UNESCO World Heritage Site of Medieval Rhodes is the next addition to DIGIPAST’s virtual world! Following the footsteps of the Knights of Saint John, we uncovered stories from this legendary era.

Our latest content includes:

🏰 3D reconstructions of iconic medieval buildings

🧙‍♂️ Green screen reenactments featuring knights, soldiers, and royalty

📜 Historical paintings and animations unfold like storybook scenes

Our goal? To make visitors feel like they are stepping back in time. We want you to experience moments from Rhodes’ medieval life exactly as they happened.

This new experience is currently available through TUI’s guided group tours in Rhodes.
