December is usually my favourite time of year… the lights, the traditions, the cosy moments. But this week?
It hasn’t felt like that for me.
Life has been heavy in that quiet, overwhelming way — nothing huge, just the buildup of a thousand little things. The mental load, the rush, the expectations, the pressure we put on ourselves to make everything magical for everyone else… even when we’re running on fumes.
But this moment… watching him meet Father Christmas… it stopped me.
His face lit up in a way only kids can manage — pure wonder, no hesitation, no stress, no thought of the to-do list or the dinners or the washing piling up.
Just magic.
And it reminded me that even when we feel flat, tired, or a bit lost in the noise of the season… our kids still feel the magic we create. Not because everything is perfect, but because we show up.
If you’re struggling to feel festive this year, or you’re smiling on the outside while holding it together on the inside — you’re not the only one.
So many of us are quietly carrying the weight of it all, trying to make December special while dealing with life behind the scenes.
You’re doing better than you think.
The magic is still there — maybe softer, maybe slower — but it’s there.
And sometimes, moments like this are enough to help us find our way back to it. ❤️✨
