Yes, you are reading it correctly: Thought Chamber, the mighty prog metallers from San Francisco, California, are back with a new album.

The spiritual child of composer & guitarist Michael Harris has already offered two pieces of progressive excellence: the debut album Angular Perceptions (released in 2007), and their second full-length Psykerion (released in 2013).

Their third album, Myst of Lyriad, is here. It was already released in digital format through Lion Music on August 22nd, 2025. The album will be released on CD in two editions. The US edition will be released on Michael Harris' own label, Imminent Music Force. The European edition will be released by Arkeyn Steel Records and will include three bonus tracks not available on the digital and US CD editions.

The core band remains the same as on Thought Chamber's previous Psykerion record, featuring composer & guitarist Michael Harris (Darkology, ex-Arch Rival, ex-Vitalij Kuprij, solo artist for 35+ years - Michael has written 20 albums of globally released music); Bill Jenkins on keyboards (also in Enchant); Mike Haid on drums (formerly of David Chastain & Michael Harris solo records); and Jeff Plant on bass (Jimi Tunnell; Vast Conduit: Marcelo Berestovoy).

The album features multiple lead vocalists, including Travis Wills (Crimson Glory, Infidel Rising), Devon Graves (Psychotic Waltz), and John Jaycee Cuijpers (Trans-Siberian Orchestra).

Musically, the album explores the beautiful dreamscapes of melody and complexity that are well known to all Thought Chamber fans worldwide. A mystical journey from progressive rock to progressive metal — not to be missed!

Do you really miss the days when heavy metal had some really big and catchy songs to offer? Are you still in search of a great combination of classic heavy metal with power metal, featuring epic vocals and an exotic touch of good old pomp / hard rock as well? Well, if the answer is yes, it seems we have a full-length album for you.

The Lavery / Mergler project consists of songs that vocalist Giles Lavery (Warlord, Jack Starr, Alcatrazz, Dragonsclaw) and multi-instrumentalist Thomas Mergler have been working on for ages. Their good friend Ashish Shetty offered some of his songwriting and performance magic as well, bringing life to eight magnificent compositions.

Some months ago the project released a digital single called "Ascendant". We liked the song so much that we lost no time at all and approached Giles Lavery asking if there was more material available. Giles told us that there were 7 more songs in demo form. We proposed to release all eight songs on a full-length and that was it: Lavery and Mergler started to work on the final production of the songs while Angel Priest started designing the front cover.

We are very happy that we can share the amazing final result with you: an album that will take you back to a golden age of melody and top songwriting.

Giles Lavery comments about this full-length: "This album represents mostly a number of songs from our combined past existences, songs which we felt, for a long time, and for one reason or another… deserved a proper recording, presentation and release."

Power of Omens from San Antonio, Texas, USA was one of those bands that managed to develop a trademark sound of their own, writing a golden page in the great book of progressive metal, thanks to their two classic albums: their debut Eyes of the Oracle (1998) and their sophomore full-length Rooms of Anguish (2003), released just two years before the band’s split.

Since the early days of their formation back in 1994, Power Of Omens have started to build their own artistic vision that was widely transformed into their music: The result of this evolutionary processing was captured into the band's two demo tapes that were released back in 1996 and 1997. Both demo releases showcased a band walking the edgy lines of progression through early versions of trademark compositions that finally found their way mainly into the band's classic debut. In fact, a careful listener would discover the deep connections that shaped a complete soundscape that lasted until the band’s final days: The common titles and the demo exclusives, everything was put into the big Power of Omens puzzle for a big purpose. And by listening to those early demo recordings someone would realize that this band has formed a wide frame of progressive metal greatness.

Arkeyn Steel Records reissues both Power of Omens demos on a compilation CD, making this out-of-print material available again. All the audio material has been remastered from scratch by Kostas Scandalis at Infinity Studios, Thessaloniki, Greece, ensuring the best possible audio experience. The booklet includes never-before-seen photos of the era plus lyrics. New artwork is featured based on the cover of the debut demo from 1996.

We can surely put this reissue on the "dreams come true" list as everyone on Arkeyn Steel Records is a big Power of Omens fan. We wanted to officially reissue those demos since the early days of the label considering them as pure 90s prog metal gems.

It was about time for the second Medalyon full-length album to be reissued. We started the Medalyon reissue project back in 2018 with the release of their debut Visions, adding the Medalyon EP and the Never Goodbye / Master of Your Mind single tape as bonus tracks. Now it is time for the band’s second masterpiece to see the light of day again.

Evolving the musical direction first developed on the debut, Medalyon presented an even more technical and enigmatic approach on their sophomore release, delivering a brilliant progressive/power metal album that was surely ahead of its time. We would like to announce the return of Dimitris Tiktopoulos on the vocal slot of STAR.GATE.

Tiktopoulos was the original singer of the band, having joined at its formation back in 2003. He performed on the first two albums — Stargate (2004) and Reborn (2013) — before departing in 2014.
Now, a decade later, he returns to the band after a period in which STAR.GATE released four albums with different vocalists.

So, it’s time for one circle to close and a new one to begin: after all these collaborations, STAR.GATE are truly returning to where it all started!

AVALON from Rochester, New York are familiar to most metal collectors out there, thanks to their "Live or Die" debut album, a quite sought after private piece of vinyl, released back in 1988.

One year after their debut, in 1989, AVALON released the "We Got This Idea...", LP-tape, showcasing a more technical and melodic direction on their classic heavy metal. An impossible to find item nowadays, this tape is a real treasure, not only due to its rarity but due to the music it includes.

After the release of the tape in 1991, the band moved from Rochester, to New York City trying to secure a valuable slot in the music industry. They performed extensively in various clubs around the area, recording some more music as well.

The Arkeyn Steel Records team managed to track the drummer and founding member Lex Dunbar. Together they worked for the reissue of the "We Got This Idea..." LP-tape, for the first time on CD. A lot of bonus material is included: The unreleased NYC demo from 1994, plus some live cuts from the band's performance at the famous CBGB club back in 1992.

Everything is remastered from scratch by Kostas Scandalis at Infinity studio (Thessaloniki, Greece). The booklet includes a complete set of lyrics plus never before seen photos. Lex Dunbar worked on the liner notes, while Kostas Athanasoglou, developed the artwork for the CD.

AVALON was for sure one of the most important bands of the New York heavy metal underground. Their second release is an absolute gem that deserves be discovered by everyone. So here it is! And there is more to come!

For this release the Arkeyn Steel Records team explores some truly uncharted waters of the 90s US prog metal underground, presenting the unreleased LP-Tape of TWIST OF FATE from Akron, Ohio.

TWIST OF FATE was started around the summer of 1994. The founding members were, Tim “Ripper” Owens - vocals, Nick Giannakos - guitars, Dennis Hayes – bass, Jeff Curenton - drums. There was a four song demo recorded with this line-up. Shortly after the release of the demo, in 1995, Tim Owens was replaced with Greg Wagner on vocals and a six song demo was recorded and released in 1996 using some of the same songs from the first demo.

In 1997 the band changed singers again, adding vocalist John Stafford. At this time 12 more songs were recorded (compositions from the previous demos and several new ones). This could have been the band's debut album but for many reasons those recordings were never released to the public.

With the help of guitarist Nick Giannakos, the Arkeyn Steel Records team brings those recordings back to light, presenting them as an official release, filling an important gap in the history of the band.

On those recordings TWIST OF FATE presents a remarkable level of songwriting, combining their melodic progressive metal with heavy and power metal elements.

All the material has been remastered from scratch for the best audio experience, by Kostas Scandalis at Infinity Studio (Thessaloniki, Greece). A complete set of lyrics is included plus lots of never before seen photos and a band's bio written by Nick Giannakos himself.

In 1998 and after some more line-up changes the band released their same titled private CD. They disbanded back in the year 2000.
These recordings mark the band's golden era: they are great examples of talent, power and passion. Everyone deserves to discover them. Now is your chance through this release!
