🌎 El lago de Atitlán es el cuerpo de agua más profundo de Centroamérica

Se formó hace aproximadamente 84,000 años de la explosión cataclismica “Los Chocoyos” por lo que su cuenca es un cráter volcánico. Tan fuerte fue la erupción que han encontrado material piroclástico en Ecuador y en la Florida, Estados Unidos. Está rodeado de tres imponentes volcanes: Atitlán, Tolimán y San Pedro; en la cuenca baja está rodeado por 10 municipios y distintas aldeas pertenecientes a los pueblos Tz'utujil y Kaqchikel.
