INVEST 92W IS NOW TROPICAL DEPRESSION 17W (TD 17W) NORTHEAST OF WENO, CHUUK

Invest 92W has been upgraded to Tropical Depression 17W (TD 17W) by the Joint Typhoon Warning Center with max sustained winds of 30 mph. It was moving west at 2 to 3 mph and was located near 7.9N 154.9E, about 190 miles northeast of Chuuk and about 284 miles southeast of Guam.
FSM: Heavy rainfall and gusty winds are occurring in portions of Chuuk and Pohnpei States. Gusty winds and periods of locally heavy showers are still possible for Kosrae as the center TD 17W moves to the north and heavy rain bands continue to move around the system while surging west to southwest winds south of TD 17W continue across Kosrae, Pohnpei, and Chuuk States.
GUAM/CNMI: Continue to monitor the latest forecast and communications from NWS Guam and local emergency management. Plan and prepare for possible impacts from a passing tropical cyclone. The level of impacts and potential intensity is still under analysis as this system evolves over the next several days. Plan and Prepare now while local weather conditions are fair and favorable.
