DO YOU TRUST THE GUYANA POLICE FORCE?

Trust in the Guyana Police Force has been eroded by decades of corruption, failure and abuse of power. The death of Adriana Younge was an exclamation point in a month where the Guyana Police force killed innocent civilians, botched investigations and lied to the Guyanese public. The police were seen on a live video preventing Adriana Younge's parents from searching the Double Day Hotel for their daughter. Police brutality and corruption were caught on camera for Guyanese and the world to see. If the police are lying repeatedly on statements and consistently abusing and harming citizens. Why should the public respect or trust the Guyana Police Force?

Guyanese are Lazy! Exploring "Voluntary Unemployment"

When the Private Sector Commission told a visiting IMF team that "unemployment in Guyana is largely voluntary, " people argued that Guyanese are lazy and do not want to work. Even after receiving backlash, the Private Sector Commission stood by the statement, saying that, except for the disabled and single parents, jobs are available for all Guyanese and that there is a shortage of skilled and unskilled labour. Are Guyanese lazy? Do Guyanese not want to work? Or are there other factors influencing the current labour market?
