Months After Brutal Beating, Mother Still Pleads for Justice
Kaden Persaud, a 16-year-old student of Rosignol Secondary School, is still suffering months after he was brutally beaten by two males — one of them just 15 years old. The attack in October 2024 left Kaden with a deep head wound that needed 42 stitches and caused lasting physical and emotional trauma.
His mother, Lisa Persaud, a single mother and teacher, is still begging for justice nearly a year later. She says the attack has changed her son completely.

“They passed him, turned back, and started to push him,” Lisa explained. The situation turned violent when they picked up a piece of wood and hit Kaden three times in the head and once on his back. Despite losing consciousness, Kaden stumbled back to his grandmother’s house before collapsing.
He was rushed to the hospital for emergency treatment. Since then, Lisa has spent a lot on his care, including therapy and counseling.
“He still gets frequent headaches, had to get glasses, and struggles to understand why this happened to him,” Lisa said.
Although the 15-year-old admitted to the beating, Lisa says justice has stalled because of delays, including missing documents for the case file.
“I’m not saying lock him up, but if he’s so aggressive now, he needs help,” Lisa pleaded. “Meanwhile, my son is the one left suffering.”
