Hear from two of GAN’s team members who are working on their animated project, Relics. Over the past few days, they attended B2B industry talks, witnessed pitches and engaged a large creative community at the Animae Caribe Animation Festival in Trinidad and Tobago.

Congratulations to our GAN Studios and Guyana Animation Network Inc. team attending the Animae Caribe Animation Festival this year and representing three GAN-led animated project pitches for mentorship and further development.

Our friends over at the Animation Network Inc. are making big moves and we at !nnovate Guyana are with them every step of the way! They were one of our Guyana Innovation Prize program awardees back in 2022 and we are proud to see their tremendous growth.

“GAN will be participating in the Caribbean Creative Pitch Accelerator for their creative animation television series scripts at the highly-anticipated Animae Caribe Animation and New Media Festival in Trinidad and Tobago from October 25 – 28, 2023.”

Meet Your Trainer:

Kevin is a 2D cut out style animator Competent in Moho Pro, Toon Boom Harmony, Adobe Animate & Open Toonz/Tahoma 2D. Animating Commercials and shorts for 10 years, a recognized named in the Jamaican landscape. Having won several awards for his short Animations Abeeku and the Maroons and Runners, he is constantly in pursuit of creating culturally diverse stories with a universal appeal.

He currently teaches animation at the University of the West Indies and the Vocational Training Development Institute. He is also President of the local animation association Jamaica Animation Nation Network (JANN), contributing to developing all animation practitioners in his country.

Some of Kevin's Awards include:
·2nd Place Silver Medalist, Film Olympiad 3rd Staging, 2021
·Winner Best Animation at the Columbus Black International Film Festival 2018
·Winner Best Animation at GATFFEST Film Festival 2018
·Winner Best Animation, Best Actor and Best Script at the Lignum Vitae Film Festival 2018
·Winner “Best Short Film” & “Best Director”, GATFFEST Lignum Vitae Film Festival 2016
