Across Jamaica this Labour Day, communities came together to honour a tradition deeply connected to service, pride, heritage, and nation-building. 🇯🇲
This year’s national focus placed major attention on community infrastructure, early childhood spaces, and sport, including projects connected to Sabina Park and educational facilities across the island. It feels like a genuinely positive direction for Jamaica. One that recognises that strong communities are built through opportunity, shared spaces, youth development, and people giving their time back to the places that shaped them.
Sheldon Cottrell spent Labour Day in Olympic Gardens, Kingston, the community where he grew up. Not for headlines or polished cameras but to be a part of positive and productive work.
As Sophie Claire M Agency, we are proud to support Sheldon’s vision for SALUTE THE YUTES and the work he hopes to do both inside cricket and within the wider Jamaican and Caribbean community. Community outreach, youth empowerment, mentorship, education, and creating opportunities beyond the boundary rope are all part of the long-term vision.
We encourage everyone to follow 🫡
