On Friday, December 12th, 2025, Regional Division #5 held its Annual Christmas Breakfast and Awards Ceremony at the Divisional Headquarters, Fort Wellington Compound.
The event, was attended by key officials including Deputy Commissioner Administration Mr. R. Budhram, Regional Division Commander #5, Senior Superintendent L. Withrite, and other senior officers, which was marked by warmth, camaraderie, and the singing of Christmas carols.
In his remarks, the Regional Commander emphasized that while Christmas is traditionally a time for family, the โdivisional familyโ is equally important and deserving of recognition and support. He expressed sincere appreciation for the officersโ unwavering dedication and exceptional service throughout the year.
A key highlight of the ceremony was the distribution of awards across various categories, recognizing outstanding performance at stations and within different ranks, including Barrack Labourers and Mess Staff.
The Best Cop for the region was awarded to Sergeant Budraj of the Fort Wellington Police Station, with Detective Lance Corporal Tappin named Runner-Up Best Cop. Both officers were commended for their exemplary performance in crime fighting and their unwavering commitment to duty.
Deputy Commissioner Administration Mr. R. Budhram, bringing greetings on behalf of Commissioner of Police Mr. Clifton Hicken, announced a $500,000 incentive for the region. He encouraged officers to continue serving and protecting the communities under their care, applauding their hard work and dedication.
The event concluded with a festive atmosphere, reinforcing the spirit of unity, recognition, and appreciation within the Regional Division.
