Regional Division 4C celebrated a year of significant achievement at its annual Award Ceremony, held at the Divisional Headquarters in Cove and John on Thursday, December 11th, 2025.

The event was chaired by Deputy Commander Superintendent Dufu. The programme commenced with formal welcomes, the recital of the National Pledge, and interfaith prayers. Attendees, including a wide array of distinguished guests such as Commissioner of Police Clifton Hicken, Deputy Commissioners, heads of sister services, and community stakeholders, then enjoyed lunch accompanied by the melodic strains of the Guyana Police Force Steel Pan orchestra, setting a tone of communal pride and reflection.

The ceremony focused on celebrating a historic reduction in crime, as announced by Regional Commander Assistant Commissioner Pareshram. He revealed that 2025 was the first year to record fewer than 100 crime reports, culminating in a 25% decrease in serious crimes, a milestone attributed to the dedication of the ranks.

Commissioner Hicken reinforced this sentiment, praising the officers' unwavering commitment and presenting the Region with an award of $500,000.

The pinnacle of the afternoon was the distribution of awards, with Sergeant Singh and Constable Olsemo being named Best Cop and runner-up, respectively, honouring both individual excellence and the collective effort that defined Division 4C's outstanding year.
