On Monday September 15th 2025, an educational lecture were held at Port Kaituma Secondary School (North West District, Region #01), spearheaded by P. Narine Assistant Superintendent th3 Officer in-charge of #02 Sub-Division along with Inspector U. Gordon, Sergeant Rogers, and other officers from Port Kaituma Police Station. The session aimed to share valuable knowledge and insights.
Assistant Superintendent P. Narine emphasized the vital role of education in the development and advancement of a country. He highlighted how education transmits knowledge across generations, fostering critical thinking, character development, and a strong mindset. He also stressed that education is not only a tool for intellectual and professional growth but also a cornerstone for socio-economic progress and the cultivation of spiritual and cultural values.
In addition, P. Narine further emphasized that education is both the art of teaching knowledge and the act of receiving knowledge from others. It encompasses the knowledge gained through schooling or instruction and the institution of teaching as a whole. He highlighted that education is a powerful tool for development, a foundation for growth, and a means to combat poverty, maintain law and order, and promote safety against crime. Education also plays a key role in womenโs empowerment, problem-solving, and building self-confidence.
During the session, the traffic officer also addressed the issue of littering, explaining that it is an offense, stressing the importance of using bins to maintain a clean and healthy environment.
The lecture, were attended by 33 teachers and 500 students, the ranks received widespread gratitude and support from the audience.
