Seon Carmichael, a 35-year-old bus driver of Lot 205 Land of Canaan, East Bank Demerara, was arrested on May 23rd, 2025 by a Police Sergeant from Brickdam Police Station Criminal Investigation Department and charged today (Wednesday) with two counts of Facilitating a Terrorist Act, contrary to Section 309 A(2) of the Criminal Law Offences Act, Chapter 8:01.
The accused appeared in the Georgetown Magistrate's Court before Acting Chief Magistrate Ms Faith McGusty where both charges were read to him. He was not required to plead, and he was remanded to prison. The next court date is 18th June 2025 for statements.

Dantel Fraser called 'Bragga', a 22-year-old Taxi Driver of Lot 29 Paradise, West Coast Berbice, and Samuel Coates, a 34-year-old Construction Worker of #09 Village, West Coast Berbice, were arrested on May 26th 2025, and charged jointly today (May 28th, 2025) by ranks of the Cove and John Police Station, with the offence of Possession of Narcotics for the Purpose of Trafficking.
Fraser and Coates were nabbed with 4,040 grams of Ma*****na during an intelligence-led operation conducted by a party of Police from Cove and John Police Station at Cove and John public road, East Coast Demerara, at around 13:00 hrs on May 26th, 2025.
The charge was laid contrary to Section 5(1)(a)(i) of the Narcotics Drugs and Psychotropic Substances (Control) Act, Chapter 10:10.
The two defendants appeared at the Cove and John Magistrate Court before Her Worship Magistrate Orinthia Schmidt, where the charge was read to them. They pleaded 'not guilty'. However, bail was refused and they were remanded to prison. The matter was adjourned to June 18th, 2025.
