An old grievance between two friends turned deadly on Monday evening at Moleson Creek on the Corentyne.

Dead is Gavin Daniels, who was reportedly involved in a longstanding misunderstanding with the suspect. According to reports, the suspect had recently returned from sea, and Daniels visited his home to confront him, which led to a violent altercation.

The Young Professional Housing Scheme at Palmyra on the Corentyne is poised to boost the economic landscape of the area and add to the growing list of attractions in the community.

During a visit to the site earlier today, it was observed that significant progress is being made. Utility poles have already been installed, and road construction has commenced.

Upon completion, 100 families are expected to benefit from the homes in the first phase of the project.

The initiative is being executed by the Ministry of Housing and Water through the Central Housing and Planning Authority. It forms part of the People’s Progressive Party/Civic (PPP/C) Government’s housing mandate, which has already achieved the milestone of allocating 50,000 house lots to Guyanese citizens.

Residents of Tannery in New Amsterdam will soon be connected to the national electricity grid, as the People’s Progressive Party/Civic (PPP/C) Government continues to deliver critical infrastructure to underserved communities.

Works have already commenced with the installation of utility poles, which will be followed by the laying of electrical wires and final connections.
