The Philippine Embassy in Israel confirmed on Monday the death of a Filipino national following a missile attack in Tel Aviv on the evening of February 28, 2026.
In a statement, the Embassy identified the victim as Mary Ann V. de Vera, 32, a caregiver from Basista, Pangasinan, who had been working in Israel since 2019. Her identity was verified through biometric records at the Abu Kabir Forensic Institute and confirmed by her husband, who is also based in Israel.
The Embassy expressed their condolences and extended their prayers for her loved ones.
“The Embassy joins the entire Filipino community in the Holy Land in praying for the repose of her soul and for comfort and strength for her family during this time of grief,” it said.
The strike occurred as Israeli and US military forces launched coordinated attacks on Iranian targets following the collapse of nuclear negotiations earlier this year. The offensive, part of what Israel calls Operation Lion’s Roar, hit military sites in Tehran and across Iran, escalating tensions and prompting Iranian retaliation with missile barrages at Israel and allied forces in the region.
