When I use GFX100RF for “Portrait”
The GFX100RF is undoubtedly a powerful and lightweight MF camera, but its drawback is also obvious... a non-interchangeable 35mm f/4 prime lens.
Many people say that the f/4 aperture is too small... If you're familiar with or have used medium format cameras from the film era, most lenses start at f/3.5-f/4, with only a very small number of lenses having f/2.8 or lower. f/4 is considered a "standard" aperture in the MF system.
Thanks to the large 102MP sensor, the camera offers three additional digital crop focal lengths: 45mm > 63mm > 80mm, giving me flexible "zooming" capabilities for portrait photography. Although cropping reduces pixel size, it still retains the benefit of a MF camera: high pixel (high resolution), image quality, 16-bit color depth, and 15.3 stops dynamic range... etc
*One important point to note: the lens is f/4. While digital cropping changes the focal length (magnification), the aperture and bokeh effect remain unchanged. Therefore, digital cropping on the GFX100RF does not alter the optics of the camera or lens, nor does it directly affect depth of field. There's no such thing as "the equivalent aperture decreases after teleconversion." It's not a lens adapted... Most people are wrong about this.
