Eastern Harbour Crossing in Hong Kong is an underwater tunnel. It is an immersed tube tunnel that runs beneath Victoria
Harbour, connecting Quarry Bay on Hong Kong Island and Cha Kwo Ling in Kowloon. This tunnel carries both road and rail traffic.

Immersed Tube Tunnel:
The Eastern Harbour Crossing is constructed using the immersed tube method, where pre- fabricated concrete sections are sunk into a dredged trench in the seabed and then joined together.

Combined Road and Rail:
It's not just a road tunnel; it also carries the MTR (Mass Transit Railway).

Two Sections:
The tunnel consists of a 1663m long immersed tube tunnel and a 94m long cut and cover tunnel at the Hung Hom end.

Length:
The total length of the tunnel is 2.29 kilometers.

Locations:
Ilt connects Quarry Bay on Hong Kong Island to Cha Kwo Ling Kowloon East.

History:
It was the second harbour-crossing tunnel to be buitin Hong Kong, opened on September 21, 1989.

8.5km hike today starting at Wong Nai Chung Gap Reservoir Park ➡️ Jardine's Lookout ➡️ Mount Butler ➡️ ending at Tai Tam Road. Nice hike with stunning views! Good for beginners and solo hikers.
Easy to moderate walk for us today, especially for my SORE BODY. "Ouch" to every move after hiit training😅😅😅🤦‍♀️
